Oldest 350Z, fewest Miles

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

How bout old with lots of miles.
Took delivery Aug 2002 VIN #153 59,800 miles
A:

ethan84ae,
As you can see by my Signature block, we took delivery in Aug of 02. We do not have the fewest miles since we still dearly love to drive this car. With 36,791 as of right now we don't have the most, and I am sure we don't have the least. At 46 months that comes to about 800 miles a month and we don't drive the car from the end of November until May. So if you discount those months that we have put the car up for the winter, it now comes to about 50 miles a day. Yes we DO ENJOY this car.

Hmmmmm, I just traded my 05 Roadster with a little over 1500 miles on it for a coupe. It was 14 months old. I know......that's bad, but I didn't want to drive it in the rain and the Florida summer heat is too much. I hated to drive it with the top up and I got a nice dose of skin cancer with it down. I'm really hoping the coupe sees more action.

If you ordered your car rather than taking one off the dealer's lot at some later date, that is not considered a pre-order.
Sorry.
I've seen maybe three true pre-order guys responding here so far.

i feel sorry for all of you that are boasting how little miles you have on your cars... a joke really.... mine is 14 months old with 32.000 klm. when it gets to 50.000 i will trade it in and grab another one (different color..lol)..you guys sound like a bunch of fender polishers..make sure you clean your inner fender liners for that little trophy that most cherish so much at the car shows ...lol.. drive the damn thing...... that is what it was built for.
i am sure if Mr "K" was not in a wheel chair he would be blasting down the highway ENJOYING THE RIDE....just my 2 cents......drzee

I think some others here have me beat, but I think I'm near the top.
Pre-Order 2003z with 14,400 miles.
Frankly, I wish I was on the high-mileage side. As others have mentioned above, this car truly is made to be driven. I bought my 350z with every intention of driving it more often. I've had a history of "babying" my cars, only to see them depreciate so much in value regardless of how clean and how low the mileage.
Now, I take my 350z to the track at least twice a year and have fun with it. If I mess it up, it's only a car. If it rains, yes it may look dirty, but I can always wash it again. If I get a lot of miles on it, I have an excuse to get another car to have fun with.
While I regret that I do not have as much time nowadays to drive my 350z, I do not regret coming to the understanding (albeit later in life) that a car is a lot more fun to drive than to "garage".

zohio....could not have said it any better. It is fun for a "collector" maybe to keep their car in mint condition, and see how long they can keep that "dealer" smell in the car, etc.
However, for others who are "drivers", it just ain't much fun to sit and let your car depreciate...we like to drive the living crap out of the car and see what it can do. That is how I bond with my cars.
I will be a collector one day...for now, I remain a driver. And it is possible to be both..if you have the money and the space.
