A&Q about 350Z
Q:

i've got the nav, so mine opens and closes automatically. there have been a few occasions when it will stick when opening and i have to force it a little, but no real problems.

Most Zs have theirs in the dash, not the center console.
But back to the question: I have had no problems with the button or the door. And I would have to assume ANYTHING that breaks or fails to operate properly - that has not been caused by verifiable owner abuse - would be covered by the 3 yr/ 36 mo warranty.
Hope that helps. Good luck with your console door, JOE.

JOE>..the technical wonder!!!
You are right, it is in the dash and not the center console, although I can see where it might be an interchangeable term.
I also have had minor problems with mine. It isn't the most mechanically sound design. Until it really starts sticking I can't complain though. Usually it is the case that i just push the button and it won't go up. As far as the wearing...don't think that will be covered by warranty. If you are pushing the button a whole lot, that is a natural cause and effect type relationship, so no leeway there. I have altered my "stowing" practices. I only put things in there for road trips where I am going to be in the car for an extended period of time. I have found creative ways to store other small items I use on a frequent basis...for instance, I have a key access card (size of a credit card) that I use to get into my apt. complex and another for my office parking garage. They fit perfectly in the slot where the extender from the sun visor comes out. There is enough margin between the extension piece and the slot that it fits perfectly...one in each visor. Just a tip! I would post pics but have never taken a pic of this before...never thought it would be useful. Guess you never know.

ok.. well maybe he actually did mean the center console, but i assumed he meant the dash compartment.
i have actually noticed some wear on the little coin holder door. like you can rub the paint off or something.

That's a big pic.
Ahh...the advantages of having a black interior.

Yes I did mean the dash, but I just bought the car and it is still under warranty, I guess I will bring it to the dealer and see if they will replace it. If they don't does anyone know of anything that will cover up the button, it really looks bad
A:

justin - are your seats white leather?
joep - do armour oil wipes help with wear marks on the button - post a pic of it.

It came with Frost leather with the exterior color he chose.
I guess I've spent too much time on the Build Your Own sites over the last four years.

nice, only two choices for interiors in Oz, tan or black.

It's okay, I have auto too lol - but actually switching it into the pseudomanual isn't bad at all. It's not as responsive as I'd like, but it's close, it's better than expected.
I love my orange interior ;P Although I would like the black for mine as well.
