A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I have been told by a few on this board that the most Hp I can expect from the following mods is 15-20 hp. Aem intake, Exhaust(stillen), Crank Pulley(Unorthodox) and a chip. Do you all agree?
I am thinking 35-50,(from the engine not at the wheels) Am I crazy?
I am just going by manufacture claims, and the low end at that.
Any tips woudl be apreciated, don't want to spend a couple grand if it will not be any quicker.....

what's the chip supposed to do?

mods aren't really cumulative, they work in conjunction...you have to understand that. just because an intake manufacturer claims 6hp and an exhaust manufacturer claims 12hp, does not mean together they will make 18hp. It's really a trial and error type game if you're serious about NA mods. the mods you talked about, i mean you'll probably be able to feel it on the butt dyno, at the track you might see a .5 sec 1/4 drop at most, but im just going off the top of my head. The sound you get from the intake/exhaust will probably be the most fulfilling. If you're really interested in expanding power, the most cost effective way is FI

Have you considered an aftermarket intake plenum?

I was just gettin ready to say, the Crawford plenum system is great. In fact if you get the whole system, the plenum and the headers, Doug has documented 20+hp gains. Give it a look.
Doug is one of the leaders of our local Z club, and a real Z genius.
