35th Anniv.

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Hello all. I am a Z32 owner in need of some Z33 answers. I was checking out the 35th Anniv. 350Z and wanted to know the following.
Just how long do the 140 Treadwear rated Bridgestones (delivered on the car ) last?
Is the 300hp 35th Anniv. really faster than the '03 or '04 models? In the seat of the pants of course not on paper.
Is the BOSE stereo improved over Nissans last attempt at the BOSE setup? I spent lots of $$$$$ getting rid of it in my Z32.
Thanks for the help guys.
JJ
A:

1. depends how you drive of course, but not long regardless... unless you drive like a little old lady.
2. no clue, but i'd love to find out. i have the 287.
3. i have the bose in my 05 and i like it. my dad has the bose in his 03 and he hates it. they made an improvement somewhere in 04.

1. depends on how you drive but around 20k if you dont abuse them heavily
2. no, the 300hp engines have less torque also
3. its fine for me, but if you're the kinda guy that would go aftermarket you'd be much better off going that route

DrivenZ is right on. 18-22K at best, same as your Z32, and the lower torque costs the car as much as you gain. I think Nissan did the power change just so it looks better on paper, with all of the 2xx-something HP cars on the market now (there is even a Mazda6 AWD Turbo now...).

Well (and I know this is wierd) I got 54K out of mine. heh
Believe only what you think, not what you feel.
A:

you're right that's weird. you're obviously not driving properly. someone take his Z away from him.

54k with your 140 potenza??????????, yeah right. I have somewhere around 420 treadwear on my civic and It only lasted me 38k.
A:

they are his tires, so I'm guessing he'd know...
A:

Yes. I'd know. I swapped out my Ray's Tracks (with Potenzas still mounted) for RH J8s...and I did it at 54K miles. I now have 73K on my Z, and the tread of the Toyos on the J8's shows wear, but no where near even half:

No wonder , Wisconsin HuH probably all in snow (or cheese) He He.
I replaced my Potenza's at 11K only did a few burn outs. Put BF Goodrich KDW2's on it and love em.
A:

Just to add to the tire wear discussion... My Bridge's have about 12k on them and have about 4/32 of tread left. So I'm guessing under normal driving conditions I would get about 20k on them, just as drivenZ guessed. But these have been autocrossed twice. That last autocross took off about 1/32, so I might fall a little shy of 20k. But after I wear these out I'll be running seperate shoes for autocross, so my daily's should last longer.

I don't drive my car in snow, or in cheese. :)

I've driven my car in cheese...I reccomend mozarella...it grips the best.

ya, cheese would definitely make your tires last longer. prolly add horsepower too.

20k on the rears if your lucky!
Fronts have been less for me... however we don't want to bring this up.
Everyone is tired of this subject.
My Good Year Eagle F1's have a little over 15k on all the way around.
Only comment is you need to keep them inflated to 37 to 40 lbs.
