Well, it's time to replace the ol' sterio. What have you guys found is the best head unit (looks, sound, etc.) inside the z?

I put this in mine. I ran it on the stereo itself for about a month and then i replaced my highs and mids and run a new JL Amp. Really love this headunit. Picked it up for $750 shipped on ebay!
Called the Kenwood DDX-7017

Does anyone have an eclipse head unit...which one. I was looking at the 5000 and the 7000 those things look AWESOME!

its a double din and fills the hole nice (with the adapter plate)!! It is really kick a$$ though. You can play two more tvs of it, rear back up cam, navagation, sirrus sat radio, cd, dvd, mp3 player, everything you could ever want...
I watched a movie on it the other day going to the beach and the screen is nice....
The only downfall to this head unit is 2 things.
1. During the day cant see movies to good!
2. During the night the screen is really bright (I found the brightness for that though).
Overall one hell of a HU to have!
I give it two thumbs up!

Copy this Clarion Link, you can tune the color to match the Orange or "amber" display. It has Sub control, and MP3 capability. Not to mention it blends very well with the brushed aluminum accents in the 350Z interior.. I have one and it sounds great, and I AM an very picky when it comes to sound quality...

twins I like that man, just not really the kind of thing I need.
What about using an ipod? Can you plug it directly into the clarions or do they need a dumb interface box like the pioneers? If not, are there any that can just be straight plugged into?
I'm using an FM transmitter right now and it just ain't cuttin' it anymore.

Yea, it also has an Aux input, all you need is a cable with the Ipod connect on one end and the 1/8 inch stereo jack on the other.....for the sound anyway. It will not power the Ipod

I have a Panasonic 32 inch flatscreen with a SONY progressive scan DVD player running through a 1000 watt Onkyo 6.1 surround sound system.....its all in my apartment. That's the only place I watch movies (except when my girlfriend wants to go "out" to the movies...I am whipped and can't say no).
