VIN and Anniversery Edition?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

A few questions from a prospective Z driver::
What is the general consensus on the 35th anniversary 2005 350Z? Decent model? Guesses on holding resale value?
I really like the Ultra Yellow (its hard for me to admit I LIKE a YELLOW car, but I REALLY like that yellow!) and the anniversary edition seems like a logical choice, since there seem to be quite a few out there with low miles on them, at a fairly reasonable price.
How do you think the resale value on the anniversary model would hold up against the Enthusiast, for example?
One more question: is it possible to identify an anniversary addition by the VIN? It seems that the easily identifiable traits of the anniversary edition are the 5-spoke wheels, leather interior and the spoiler -- am I missing any easy keys to IDing one?
Thanks for your help!

i personally don't think there's enough of a difference between the anniversary editions and all the others. i used to think they only came in yellow, but that's not true either.
anyway, to me they're not worth the extra cost.

I wouldnt pay much if any extra just for an anniversary edition, it really isnt distinguished enough from the regular models. All of the extras on the car are easily purchasable online or through the dealer. One other thing to look for is the side Z badging has gold/bronze trim around it instead of the regular silver...even so though you can buy those online if you really want.

Thanks for the feedback, CantZMee -- that's exactly the kind of opinion I was looking for. The Enthusiast would also be a little easier to get my wife to buy into, too, since I live in Colorado and am planning to keep my Integra for bad weather driving (front wheel drive and not as torquey as the Z) and situations where I need a (small, cramped) back seat , since we've got kids.
Thanks again, guys. Sorry if I miss-interpreted your post, cmcniel.

No slamming intended! I guess the post came across more harsh than I meant it to. I was trying to point out that the price you are seeing is going to be the going rate in your area - your location is very much a factor in car prices. Only local price shopping will tell you what is or isn't a good deal. It seems that they aren't exactly holding their value if they're selling below MSRP even as "new" cars. And they're still on the lot....not much demand.
Sorry for the communication flap!

I personally waited for the 05 AE, Got a black one with the two tone seats and love it. Turns out its an early release of the 06 in many ways, seats are unique. Way down the road resale will pay off a littel I think. Go for it!
