Hairline scratches in clearcoat

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I picked up my new 2006 Z on 3/27/06 and checked it over real good before I drove out of the dealer lot. I didn't see anything wrong with the finish. The dealer put a protective polish on the car before I picked it up. Since 3/27 I washed the car a couple times using a very soft mit and a good car wash liquid. After the second wash is when I noticed a few hairline scratches in the clearcoat probably because the polish the dealer applied is washing off. A couple of the scratches I could feel with my fingernail. I put a good polish on the scratches and they disappeared. Does anybody know of anything that removes harline scratches from clearcoat ? The polish seems only to mask it until it starts to wash off, I would like to buy something that actually removes the scratches.

Zaino has a product that claims to do just do that, called Z-PC. but I have not tried it so not sure if it actually works. I have tried many others which they failed.

ZCRAZI
I checked zainostore.com and this is what they said about Z-PC
"z-pc fusion is abrasive and should only be used when necessary, it's not intended for frequent use"
I noticed something with the few hairline scratches in the cars clearcoat they are only noticable in my garage with the overhead light on, when the car is outside under natural light ( cloudy or sunny the scratches aren't noticable.
I went to Pep Boys and bought this new stuff called Scratch Doctor made by Nu Finish, I'll try it out and let you know if it works. If not I'll just keep my sunglasses on until I walk away from the car and maybe I'll forget about the scratches.

Yes, I do have some of those too, like you said I can only see them under the bright over head light. I have seen brand new cars in show rooms or car shows with lot of hairline scratches worse than we have.

Yeah mine has some also (three years old). What I use is Zanio Z5. What is does is fills in the hairlines with a polymer. If you add a few coats of Z5 they will be gone. Then add a couple layers of Z2 and your car will look better then it did when you picked it up from the dealer. Keep adding a coat or two every month and you will never see them again.

I just put the Scratch Doctor stuff on my car today. It helped a little, I think. If you're a regular reader, you may remember I'm the guy who "drove my poor Z into a tornado."
Another disturbing consequence of that dust storm I drove through: I've got thousands of tiny specs on my windshield where the dust appears to have scratched whatever the coating is on the windshield. Sorta sucks.
