A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Hello fellow Z owners, sadly the time has come and I must put my beloved 2003 Z up for sale. It’s a 2003 Silver Enthusiast with 21,500 miles stock except for the updated Infinity speakers & tweeters all around, a 10” sub, 2 Alpine amps, Alpine 5 disc CD changer and a rear mounted DVD player with a with a 7” Panasonic display behind the center console door.
Due to the arrival of a new member to the family and one less salary it no longer makes feasible sense to be making an extra car payment. How much do you guys think I can sell it for? I also purchased extended Nissan warranty any of you guys no if this is transferable to a 2nd owner.
Thanks.

The warranty is transferrable from the original owner to another individual (can't be transferred to dealers). I think all it takes is $50 and the seller must get a form from the dealer to fill out and have the buyer sign it. Then you send the form and $50 into Nissan within 30 days of the sale and they will transfer the rights over to the new owner. A pretty cool incentive for a prospective buyer, seeing as how those extended warranties can cost quite a pretty penny.
I researched all of this when I bought my used '04 and found an $1800 warranty form in the storage box. Unfortunately, I bought from a dealer where the previous owner had traded it in, so I was not able to transfer it into my name. The dealer gave me a run-around too. See, these extended warranties are offered and maintained by dealers, not Nissan. So its in the dealers best interest to deny warranty transfers. You can complain to Nissan, but in the end, its up to the dealer. But if you transfer from individual to individual, you shouldn't have a problem.
I would guess you could get close to $20k flat because of the stereo/DVD upgrades and the extended warranty transfer. That's really good mileage on the car too. The main downside is that it is a 2003 and many people do not like to buy first year models, especially with the known suspension issues on the '03. But I still think you can get close to $20k. Also depends on how well it was maintained, scratches and nicks, manual/automatic, any installed add-ons (like the aero kit), etc. Color and location will also play a part. Another good thing going for ya is that summer is on its way, and that's when people start getting the sports car itch. Also check out kbb.com, edmunds.com and nada.com.
Good luck, and hope you come back to the Z family again some day.

I traded in my 03 Track Z with 22k miles for 22k$. Dealer woulnt take the extended warranty but after calling nissan warranty center they were going to give me 400$ refund on my unused extended warranty. I havent even bothered doing it though as it was such a pain in my neck. There were so many things involved including mileage forms etc and I had already traded the car in when I found all that out.
