A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Seemed rather painless. I talked with the tech afterwards he said my fuel hose was showing signs of cracking and it was a good thing I did the service. I was without the car a whole 5 hours and they didn't even charge me extra for removing and reinstalling my Borla exhaust system (it's Nissan protocol to charge for removal of after-market parts, even on service recalls). After a quick inspection at the dealership, I took the car out, filled the tank, and drove it hard for about 2 hours. It seems to be performing better than when I dropped it off, guess some parts can loosen up over 2 years....
In closing, I would recommend doing the service. They told me every Z that they've done that on had signs of a cracking hose; and who knows, they might end up tightening some parts that need it. Just make sure you use a good dealership, that being said: I recommend Bob Howard Nissan in Oklahoma City, they've always done well with my car.

Just curious, did you get a notice from Nissan or did you just go to the dealer and request the service. If it weren't for zcar.com, I would never have heard of this problem.
Glad to hear all went well.

I got a notice from Nissan in the mail. Then I researched it here, and with my mechanic buddies.

Replacing the fuel hose wouldn't make the handling feel tighter. It's the fact that they would have to remove then reinstall pretty much the entire back half of the car. (see "Fuel Hose Recall" post for service details). It might just be my Z, but after 2 years of punishment on less than perfect roads a suspension system can loosen, and a properly trained tech can go a long way. I installed my Borla exhaust, so I'm not totally stupid about the workings of my Z's suspension, but there's no subsitute to a factory trained tech, assuming he cares enough to take the time to fix your Z properly.

I had my recall done today. Seems like they did the job correctly. I din't drive on the highway home, just in case the rear end fell out I didn't want to be going 90mph!
Also, I figured I'd have the oil changed while they had it. I have been using full synthetic, and asked for it specifically. They used regular petroleum oil. Now I have to bring the car back to them so they can drain and refill. Anyone know if this could cause problems? Is there anything involved I shoud know about when they screw up like this, special proceedure to solve?
They also charged me labor to tell me that I have a blown speaker in my driver's door. Guess they didn't believe me when told them what the problem was. They then offerd to fix it for $174. It's not even the Bose system.
Anyone know a good place to have my car serviced in RI? So far, Norwood Nissan has sucked, my car was hit in the lot. This latest pain was caused by Inskip. Smithfield Nissan didn't want to handle the recall they said they were "too small of a dealership to handle the recall".

I wish mine had gone so well. When I picked my car up it had a very rough idle. I drove it back to the dealership and left it the next day.
The service advisor called and said that the idle was normal (no MIL or SES code present). Supposedly everything checked out "fine". He said to bring it back if I can get the car to do it again.
When I picked it up the second day, I got him to take a spin around the block with me so he could feel the horrible shake and vibration at a stoplight. It feels like a nasty vacuum leak or low fuel pressure. I figured the only way to get him to admit that the idle was not normal was to let him experience the "chattering teeth syndrome" LOL!!
I'm hoping to get it back with the silky smooth idle again soon. At any rate, I guess it all depends on getting a highly skilled tech.
Good Luck!

I didn't realize a dealership had the option to not service a recall like this? Weird.
