Fuel Hose Recall

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

The entire rear suspension assembly has to be removed!! I don't know what's worse: the chance of fuel leakage or having the local shop monkeys take my car apart.
A:

Yes,
I know, I had the entire assembly removed due to the gas tank haveing to be replaced last year for the fuel transfer problem.
A:

I don't know guys, I called my dealership and they told me every Z they did this service on had signs of a cracking fuel hose. EVERY ONE! The tech I talked to said I should get my car in as soon as possible as this might be a fire hazard. I don't like the idea of them taking my car apart, especially since I have a Borla exhaust system, but I don't want to take the chance if this is a serious problem. Besides, Nissan wouldn't spend money on three hours of repairs if it wasn't a big issue.

This just might give me the push to trade for an 06 and let someone else worry about the repair job.

What is it going to take to make you realize that you bought a white elephant. Tire featering, transmission problems, electric problems, etc, etc, and now this. The bottom line is is that this car is a LEMMON! Quit being in denial and bail out or take appropriate legal action. You do not owe Nissan ****, they owe you.

someone's bitter.

im starting to agree with ngm, ive bin trying to buy one for like 3 months now... then u guys told me not to buy it (the ppl who have the car said not to buy it!), u told me to go with the 05 or 06's. im like wow this car has alot of problems. then i ask my mechanike what he thinks.... he says he never had to replace so many transmission on the same car b4. now this... i dont know, i love this car, dont get me wrong, but im starting to worry if i should go and buy one now in the next few weeks.....
also on the side note my buying a 05-06 model now relies heavilly on me selling my car... so if anyone knowes someone looking for one give me a heads up.... its a 01 honda accord LX auto black/gray int. power wind, locks, 65k, a must see only 10500!! and ill beat or match any price online. also i have a 2k worth of electronics in the car that is FREE if u buy it. as u can see i really whant to buy a Z and the longer it takes for me to sell my current car the more ill doubt buying one... oh also i live in dover delaware... east coast. next to maryland 1hr away from philly.

i love my Z more than just about anything.

Damn, NGM sounds pissed, lol.
A:

Yeah, I don't get why a select few people take it upon themselves to scream at everyone about how crappy the Z is. It's a little like someone telling you that you live in a bad neighborhood, or saying your girlfriend should lose some weight. Even if these things are true, why would you want to hear them from a complete stranger?
NGM, even if you were right that the Z is a lemmon--which it is not--constantly spreading that gospel is not really a rational way for you to spend your time, is it? Don't you have other things you could be doing? Other forums you could be frequenting?
Lots of us here think the Z is a cool car in every way.
That said, I must admit I was quite taken with the Lotus Elise I test drove over the weekend. Another great example of lots of bang for little buck. Sort of makes the Z feel like a Cadillac by comparison.

I got the recall notice- no big deal. The dealer in my area has been fine thus far, and if they screw anything up with the recall, I'm sure they'll take care of it. So yes, I'm a bit ticked about having to go through the hassle of having the car serviced, but it doesn't bother me to the point of wanting to get rid of my car....
Not the first time I've had a fuel related recall on a Z. Nissan replaced all of the fuel injectors on my 1984 Turbo Z- the car was over 10 years old at the time... Nissan took good care of my car and its running just fine!

NGM's posts only pop up to scream about the car. Just ignore him. No car manufacturer produces 100% of their cars without issues, I'm not saying Nissan did the right thing with certain issues, but overall I'm happy with the car...
Plus, when you act like an ASS to people's posts, it really makes your opinion of the Z - and everything else - worthless....
A:

Based on the plethora of responses my posts engender, a lot of you must consider them worth responding to. Its fun just to see the mass reaction (or frustation) over any criticism of your venerable Zs. Better get to yoru local Nissan dealer and get the fuel hose fixed before your Z catches fire. Hope teh mechanic that peforms teh recall is competent so you won't have suspension problems due to inept workmanship. Based Nissan's treatment of the tire feathering issue, they will Shift_Blame.
A:

.................... done?
A:

ngm...you must have no life if this is what gives you a charge. Remaining on a forum after you have excised yourself of a car you hated. You seem to want to hold everyone accountable for the issues you experienced. Pretty sad. Someday, maybe you will grow up.

Looks like we are getting off topic again from the original post, but to answer a previous question, I have not received my letter yet, but I am in the VIN number range posted in the recall. I don't agree that the recall is no big deal, since they have to pull rear-end out of car !
