How many pre-order 2003's

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

How many pre-order owners 2003's still own it? I have mine, 0 trouble.
A:

I still have my pre-ordered 03 Daytona Blue Enthusiast!(4,500 miles)
A:

hmm, i wasnt exactly a pre-order but my car was an 03 pre-order car and i was the first owner, confusing i know. Bought my car as a dealer demo back in march 03, the car was never registered since it was a demo so technically im the first owner of a pre-order car, although i didnt pre-order it myself.
Although i knew i wanted a Z since the concept back in 00-01. Price was a big issue for me, so it was agonizing waiting to find out what the MSRP was going to be. Even after ghoshn announced the 27k range, models and options weren't specified, market demands were unknown...it was quite a hectic period back in the day, especially since i was on the fringe of being able to afford it.
It was a great choice though... I said to myself after i bought my Z "if i had gotten any other car, every time i saw a Z pass i'd be dissapointed that i didnt get it" and i still feel like that today.

Ordered 1/12/02, delivered 8/29/02. First speeding ticket 11/29/02. VIN 392. Pikes Peak White, Enthusiast, 6 speed.
No trouble except stock CD player was defective and replaced (Clarion flew in a tech guy from California in early September 2002 to investigate it and install the replacement. I live in Delaware) and I'm on my second free set of front tires. Currently at 22,000 miles.
Wish Pop could have seen it. He bought a new Datsun 1976 280Z at age 54 when I was in high school. I bought mine at age 44, 14 months after he passed away.
Still lovin it.

yes, works well but can't guarantee the car will last for life.

I got my Touring 6MT back in Oct '02... I love this ride. No problems
other than greasy windows and on 3rd set of front tires (NEW DESIGN).
I retired in '03... so a perfect retirement gift to me. 21K miles...
Peace...

We still have ours and you can view the dates below. It now has almost 34K on it and it is put away for the winter late each November and does not come out until late April or early May. Our only problem has been the normal Tire problem (3 sets and need new fronts again). Other than that we still enjoy the car and don't look to trade it until a new "Z" comes along.

I originally ordered a Silverstone Touring back in 12/2002, but then the dealer offered me the Chrome Silver they had on their lot. Vin# 107894.
I ended up getting it on 1/8/2003. The car just went over 33,000 miles and it still runs like new.
Besides the tire feathering issue (covered under warranty), I've only had one other minor problem which was the security LED going out. That was also covered under warranty. Other than that, the car has been great and I've had no other complaints or issues.
Although the grease streaks are still on the windows, I pretty much don't notice them anymore.

Well I wasn't the original buyer, but I owned it just 7 months after the first owner took delivery in early September 2002. My Z was right infront of Lou's car in the assembly line (VIN 391), but mine made it to snowy California (yes snowy...it's freezing and snow has fallen as low as 500 ft)...so I'm staying my a$$ inside.
I have almost 39K miles, I had the same 'issues' as many of you guys but none serious enough that makes me want to get rid of my Z. I have only had the tires replaced once when the feathering was first fixed, then I had to take it in twice for the window streaks...that's pretty much it. I love it and only wish my commute was longer than 2 miles each way (but I don't wish for more traffic).

MAG,
You got snow??? It was 77 degrees in Delaware on Friday (3/10/06) and the forecast is for 71 on Monday 3/13/06. Crazy weather. The Z has been out.

Still have mine, I pre-ordered in Jan 2002. 16,000 miles. I've had the window screaks (ignored), tire feathering (fronts replaced at 10,000 miles under warranty), air bag sensors (2 replaced under warranty), drivers seat bottom premature wear (replaced under warranty), and now the fuel line needs to be done under recall.
I did buy an extended warranty right before the factory one expiered.
I love this car and plan to keep it for a long time- only about 4 more payments to go and its all mine!

i ordered mine feb 2002 and got it in oct 2002. use it as a daily driver.
just hit 64 000 miles. the car has been great and i love it.
tires feathering are the ONLY problem i have ever had.
change oil----thats it.
by the way i have over 30 000 miles on my eagle f1's. they still feather and i take them back to discount tire every now and again and have them remounted and run them on the other side. it seems to help.
will need new tires soon tho.
