VDC is a good thing ...

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Thurs coming home from work. Right turn, three lanes, I'm in middle, P/U in right, other vehicle in left. Quick check, they seem to be stable in their lanes, I accelerate between them. P/U in right lane decides it has to be in far left lane RIGHT NOW. I'm commited and can only quick check left mirror and swerve left. Now I'm fast approaching 4th vehicle in left lane and I have to go back to the right.
It's all a fast left right swerve thing and at the end with the right pull on the wheel I feel the VDC applying some brakes. After I clear the mess I realize I would have slid/spun without the VDC.
Promise to self: lose my habit of turning off VDC at each start-up. I may have confidence in responding to what I try to put myself into, but the idiots around me will test my driving beyond my skills.
It tells better in person. It's a visual thing ....

Congrats 072!
You survived a Friday the 13th challenge.
My VDC saved me one time when taking a corner to fast with lots of traffic around.

must be crazy having the car control itself!

Technology has advanced ... 240Zs had rear drum brakes. I reckon you'd prefer all cars to still carry that forward.

That's the thing with VDC, TCS, and ABS. They can manipulate power/braking to individual wheels, which is something the driver cannot do; it matters not if you're Michael Schummacher. TCS wouldn't even exist right now if it weren't invented specifically to give F1 cars an advantage over the cars that didn't have it.
But yeah, go ahead and leave VDC on by default and turn it off when you're REALLY prepared to have some fun (also known as a racetrack, which is the reason Nissan provided the off switch for it).

VDC has nearly cashed my ass in...not saved it. Several times I've had to scoot quickly across an intersection, only to have the tires slip - and then that damn thing cuts power....oh I HATE THAT. lol
Believe only what you think, not what you feel.
A:

VDC doesn't do that -_-
You're probably thinking of TCS, in which case your overall time across the intersection was improved.
