Passenger Seat Metal Vibration

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I have a metal vibration coming from the passenger seat intermittently. It sounds like a 'buzzing' or a 'metal on metal' vibration and usually occurs between 40-50 mph with light throttle applied. I removed the passenger seat and drove the car and the sound went away. I don't think it's the seat belt because I've tried using the clip and also having the belt fastened. The sound also goes away when there is a passenger. The sound is loud enough to annoy the heck out of me!!! Anyone have this problem or a solution?

Wanted to try and help you out.
I have various cabin buzzes, rattles, and clicks. I put up with most of them, but occasionally I find one I cannot handle. I have not heard the buzz you describe though. It sounds like the seat may be fitting loose or uneven somwhere. Maybe take it apart and put a think layer of double sided tape on the mounts then replace it and see what happens (please, I have never taken my seat out so my idea may be completely bonkers...but I wanted share my opinion).
Good luck. Part of the problem is our cheap plastic interiors combined with stiff suspension = buzzing.

No, the rattles and vibration noise is not from the tires. Get some adhesive felt like people use on lamps and such to prevent scratching furniture. Now, have someone else drive the car while you isolate the noise and take the part loose and install a small portion of the tape where the rubbing, vibration, is coming from and you will be happy. It takes some time to get all the problems and they you are done. This is what the Nissan service manual states. And, it works great.

Interesting, I also have a metal on metal rattle under certain conditions. I havn't isolated it yet but its somewhere on the passenger side. If you isolate where to place felt pads or whatever, please share the fix. It also drives me nuts.
