A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I was driving couple days ago and there's this goodlooking girl waiting in the bus stop. I was actually stopped at a traffic light. She looked at me eye to eye. She gave me a smile! Anyone experienced that before? Girls looking at your car or yourselves?

Yeah I get that all the time. I get girls and guys that say "Nice car!" at gas stations, parking lots, etc. Seems at least twice a week. I get kids that ask if I street race and to do a burn out, I always answer street is not only illegal but dangerous (although I do on occasion). lol
Only bad thing about about the Z is that I am always thinking along with the good attention, comes the bad in terms of after I park my car in a public place, I am hoping to return to it unbroken into or stolen. Count the number of Honda Accords versus 350Z's in a public parking lot and you'll see why. But don't get me wrong, I would own a 350Z over a Porshe Boxster any day, I've own a BMW before and the repair and parts cost is just too high.

i dont notice it as much now, maybe cause its winter, but i still get looks all the time from both sexes of course female attention is always nice. However i dont get nearly as many looks as back in 03, oh man that was a trip...i got my Z about 6 months after they came out which was still winter here in jersey but that spring/summer it was awesome, people coming up and asking what it was and such, alot of gawkers. It was quite amusing.

I doubt it's so much that it's a 350z and more that it's just a nice looking sports car in general. I got those same looks when I was 16 driving my new back then 95 toyota truck and I get them now driving either of my Z's. It really depends more on the one looking at you and thier taste.
As for your situation, if she was at the bus stop why didn't you give her a ride home.

i get comments and looks at gas stations, drive thru's, and sometimes just driving. pretty much anywhere i go where people see me with my car. i don't think it's specific to girls though. i get a lot of guys that comment too.

Nobody comes up to me anywhere.
But it IS a chick magnet. My wife loved the Z from the moment she saw it with me at the LA Auto Show in Dec 2001, she loved it when we pre-ordered in Jan '02, she loved it when it was delivered in Aug '02, and she's loved it every mile since then. She's enjoyed every discovery with me, every coat of Zainos, every little thing I just had to have for it.
I love my chick magnet.

True about the haters. My car got broken into. Fortunately it was in a parking lot and the perp got spooked before he was able to take anything.
And I get looks too. In fact, I was at a Shell station on Old Hickory (Only Nashvillians will know where that is) coming home work one night. It was about 9:30 PM and there was a slight freezing drizzle. Some guy in a car full of jokers (17-19 yr. olds are all jokers...I was once a joker) told me he would pay me $100 to let him drive my car. I told him no. He said "aww, cmon, I am a professional on a manual transmission". I was like, dude you are 17 years old...NO WAY your a pro (I, by the way, am no pro either). And even if you were, the night is not good weather for driving fast...and on top of that, you would have to pay me more than $100 to let you take my car for a joyride!
I didn't really say all that. I just laughed and said thx for the compliment.
Anyone else been offered money for a drive in their car?

A guy has one in my apartment complex with the decal streaks on the side. I may be mistaken, it maybe nismo decals. You know, the long streaks that stretch from fender to rear fender.

YEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, thats the one, almost, it just had the side decals though. And the Z was red with red decals, I didn't like it at all.
But the one above looks hotttttttttttttttt.

Ohhh...I see now!
Sorry. I misunderstood earlier. Yeah the Nismo decals look cool I think. I wish they made a light gray/dark gray/silver combination for my super black...although that would be rather lame for me to get decals unless i actually had some Nismo parts on my car!
Next steps...get a Nismo exhaust and some Nismo cosmetics. and a Crawford Plenum spacer

Yeah, you bet it is !!! My wife loves the car. Matter of fact she was the one to suggest we get the new 350Z. She loved the old 300ZX's that I have owned as well. Her Dad always worked on cars so she has a opinion. She has a lot of class IMO.
The other day, I was at my wife's office one of her friends waved me over and asked me all sorts of questions about the car and wanted a ride.
I gave her a sprited ride in the mountains nearby during her break.
The only she could say when she got out of the car was .... I've got to get me one of these, it's prudy and a blast! She gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek as she always does and went back into work. I know it 's the car cause I'm one ugly prince frog. Lol !!!

We haven't had this type of stimulating debate in a while. OK, I've read all of the input, and in my case, I'll give you another reason for the stares. People are thinking, "Why is that old guy drving that new Z?"

In Houston, there are a lot of Zs... I mean, a lot....
It is very frequent that there is another one at a light with me...
The Z is a chick car....
As in, mostly Chicks drive it... I find... or Asian guys...
And in the area I'm in Houston, Zs are on the bottom of the chain...
So not much of a chick magnet.....
I'm a cheap orange japanese blip surrounded by 911s, Mercedes SLRs, Carrera GTs & Ford GTs...
But I'd take my blip over all of the above....

i'm in wpb, florida and there are a lot of cars driving around that cost a whole lot more than mine, but mine still gets attention.
i've yet to see a woman or asian driving a z.

well, i'm not old, I'm still in my high 20's lol and I'm asian. haha. Yeah a lot of old people, especially the retire ones always ask about my car and telling me they want to get it for their wives. Sometimes I feel I have BETTER connectiion talking to an old guy than a young dude that really knows about cars.
