A&Q about 350Z

A few months ago, I was driving around my 350. There was a 1990s 300zx turbo (very clean, wheels, exhaust, body kit) that pulled up next to me, and we gave each other a simultanious thumbs up. He beat me to the draw- just as I was raising my thumb, I saw his up first!

boo this man...he's the benedict arnold of Z cars. only kidding. yea it is a great feeling, im sure you'll get the same from the vette guys.
last week im waiting at the end of my driveway to pull out(i live on a busy street)and this guy rolls up slow past me in a redline, and it was one of the greatest/funniest things ive ever seen. This guy had to be the oldest 350Z owner on the planet, he had the sterotypical old man hat on, i think a scarf and he wasnt much taller than the steering wheel. but he saw me and gave a little salute even before i could get my wave up. Im only 21 so it was weird, the opposite sides of the spectrum showing mutual respect for a legendary car. i think that made my week.

nahh not quite, im a few weeks away from my 22nd and i got my car a few weeks before i turned 19. I bought a dealer demo so technically im the first owner of VIN 189 since it was never registered until i bought it. But it was probably delivered to the dealership in August 02 and i bought it about 6 months later around this time, Feb. 03 with about 2.5k miles on it. But I had been following the car through its concept stages so ive been reading this forum for what? i guess 4-5 years now, or whenever it was created.
Theres a much greater information base at my350Z.com(which is why i always refer people to go there) but theres so many threads they get lost very easily, its a bit more personal over here and i enjoy imparting some of my knowledge on newer owners. I also like skimming some of the earlier Z forums as Ive become hooked on all things Z.
BTW lou, when i said the guy was old, i keep things in perspective and 47 to me isnt really that old. this guy was atleast 70, probably older..it was quite a sight, but ill die happy if im driving a Z at that age.

This site is great for a lot of general type stuff. But if you like Z cars, its a great forum to browse all sorts of other Z cars as well. I don't even own a 350Z but I have some experience with them from work over the summer and I like to come in and see what people are doing to their cars.

Wbranch, that's a great story! Let's be honest, the cutie probably didn't suddenly want to make out with you because of your car. But at least you got her talking to you.
All in all though, in my experience, other men care about these cars a lot more than women. My girlfriend can't tell the difference between my Z and 911.
