Yes, the crush washer is that copper gasket that looks like two washers with a sidewall. It crushes against the pan as you torque the drain plug to spec (be sure to torque to spec - you don't want to strip that drain pan hole). It helps to provide a better seal between the plug and the pan.
Also, not that many will need to know this, but there are crush washers to the filler and drain plugs on the tranny and diff too.
