350z nitrous aftermath

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I know that this a 350z but it just shows how dangerous nitrous can be to your car.

For the kiddies there are a few bad words.

Wow! Theres a lot of money worth of parts on that car. Too bad they put it all on stock internals, by the looks of it....
Also, it looked like a good launch but it sounds like he seriously slipped the clutch trying to shift into second gear.

How do you figure it was stock internals? With slicks on the rear that size, it's probably all custom.
A:

I dunno, it just an assumption. Seemed like it broke too easily.

BTW I believe it was 300 shot, but I could be wrong. Looking by the damage it might have been. P:

This is a disturbing video in that this young kid is so cavalier after he blew the engine on a Z worth over $32K. Instead of showing some genuine concern he is laughing it off with his buddies. As another poster mentioned he probably did not have to pay one cent for this vehicle and therefore does not care that it is wrecked because Dad will get it fixed for him.

Maybe he was laughing because he doesn't take life too seriously and realizes that whining won't do anything about it, so better luck next time and keep rollin' along.

Amazing video--I can't believe how disintegrated that sucker was.
I kind of agree with thastankantor. He probably felt bad about it, but he could've been just making the best of the situation. We've all had a time when we should've been devestated but for the sake of being good-natured were content (at least at the time)

What I don't quite understand is the resentment toward someone like this kid who even if he didn't pay any of it is getting. I mean who cares if he paid for it or not? I don't see how that could anger anyone on these boards? What difference would it have been if he paid for it himself, he still blew the motor on his built Z, now does blowing the motor negate the rest of the work done to his car? No. Does it void of it's full value? No, so he could buy another engine and be back to racing it for a couple more thousand...not $32,000 as some have stated. Even at $32,000 or $34,000 for the track version, it's not THAT MUCH money when you look at it. Some drive their cars and park way out in the boonies to avoid getting near other cars for the fear of getting scratched, or (GASP) dinged! OMG...the world would come to an end if that happened....umm well not quite.
I love my 350Z, but I realize it's a mass produced sports car, not a unique/rare or wildly expensive exotic, so why the stress over it? My car is my daily driver and as such it's a all purpose vehicle for me (as much purpose as you can get with our limited seating and cargo room). So let's get a little more realistic and remember to just enjoy your own car and not worry about what or how others get theirs or do with them.

regardless the car is owned by performance motorsports, of new york, which is under the family of 2 large nissan dealerships. its not some hack kid that got all kinds of money from his parents who dont know what hes doing with it.

I agree bama16. If you think about it, the motor is probably not stock, which means it's already been taken apart [blown apart probably] and put back together. If that's the case, another blown motor isn't that big of a deal, even if he needs a new block. Race cars blow up when you push limits. It's just part of racing and we should realize he probably doesn't drive the car to work everyday and racing is the car's purpose. I'd still be a little more concerned though.
