A&Q about 350Z
Q:
There is no eating or drinking in my Z. My wife got pissed when she found a water bottle in the car.

I tried the no eating or drinking in my Z...but I realized that while it is a great car, it is not a holy temple. If I want a quick bite on a long road trip, I don't mind eating in the car. Also, I take drinks with me rarely.
It is not often I have food or drink in my car...I generally try to avoid it. But it does happen from time to time because...hey...thats life

I know only one way to clean knobs, but you must have a cool girlfriend or wife that will do it for you. Good luck. BEN

Well... you can try using a bit of windex(or whatever your fav window cleaner may be) and try to spray some directly onto the nob. Work the nob and spray the cleaner in there. While also dabbing it with a paper or terry cloth towel. It will losen it up a bit, but it won't bring it back to new. Mine gets a bit sticky when it gets cold. But during the summer there are no problems. I guess if you really want to try to get the stuff out(short of taking the panel off and cleaning it by hand) would be to really spray a good amount in there and then having a vacuum handy to suck out the windex once you've worked it around pretty good. This also works good if you have sticky buttons on your video game controller... don't ask... <_< >_> <_<

if you can find it in the US, diluted eucalyptus oil takes the tackiness out of spills, also good undiluted for removing stickers from windscreens.

Try using a small paint brush and some light solvent like perhaps rubbing alcohol. Just wet the brush and try and work some alcohol in the cracks between the knobs and the buttons. You can use as much alcohol on them as you want, its not going to damage the plastics or the electronics.

Also, I eat or drink in my Z when ever I want to. But no one else can, ever, unless the drink is in a can and not likely to spill. No cups, period!

Oh man, that's so bad. Especially softdrinks, they get really sticky and attracks lots of dirt. Thanks to Zpoe for posting the site, That's a way to go remove the center console and clean it.

I think we have a class action lawsuit in the making. Poor placement of cupholder leads to sticky knobs. Sticky knobs cause distraction while driving and attempting to adjust the A/C, which leads to a wreck.
This is just one angle we could use...
