A&Q about 350Z
Q:
i think the advantage of the roadster is the vision out of the rear of the car, my coupe is difficult 90% of the time I can't see other cars, and I rely on side mirrors, which makes it abit of a guessing game, thankfully most cars steer clear of me.... there are no many Z's on the road here.
the disadvantage of the roadster is usually more insurance, and the risk of people stealing and/or damaging the top. I think the top looks abit cheap when it's up.
one set of clubs fits in the back.... that's with the drivers removed.

My wife was in love with the 350Z roadster so that's what I bought her for our 10th wedding anniversary last year. True it doesn't look all the great with the top up but I don't care. Last summer I don't think the top was ever up much anyway.

T-tops are not a spur of the moment thing like a convertible top.

lol, how do ya figure peanut? I realize that whole extra 30 seconds more it take to take the t-tops off must ruin the spur of the moment effect. Secondly, what would you say about the z32 vert? is that one not spur of the moment because it's not a motorized unit?
Personally I think t-tops of the 350Z would look wierd. A targa top (although more body flex) would look a lot better. Albeit supra-ish.

The z32 vert was much better implemented than the z33 roadster. Even with the top down, the z33 roadster looks kinda weird. I can't really put my finger on it, but its almost as if the whole roadster model was an afterthought.

What about the fact that the roadster is heavier than the coupe, and it has a worse coefficient of drag?
Yeah I guess the roadster is nice for what it is (a roadster).... but you wouldn't want to buy one to turn it into a race car.

COUPE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A:
Safety.
If the car ever rolls, I'd much rather be in the coupe, even a T-top car, which still has a support beam across the top. I have seen Miatas, Porsches, etc. totally flattened when they roll, and the driver is severely injured.
And let us not forget body twist. The 350Z coupe will perform better due to structural rigidity. You sacrifice that when you cut the roof off.
A:
well, if you don't have a top then you don't have to worry about it being crushed onto your head if you flip your car. :D

^^ No, you just need to worry about your head taking over the job that a roll bar would normally serve.

how can you fit two sets of clubs, shoes and beer in your trunk - are you 4 foot tall?

I think the ZR with top down, then the Z and lastly the ZR with the top up; look good, in that order.

Once you sit in a ZZZZiiinnngggg Roadster and feel the soft, warm wind, you'll like it a lot better!! I do agree the closed Roadster needs better lines.
And a big 10 - 4 about the trunk! The Roadster has 4.1 cubic feet! My wife's clotheswasher has almost exactly the same storage space.
Someone, somewhere two days ago had a good tip for more room in the trunk of the Roadster, though. He said to pack directly in the trunk. Treat the trunk as your suitcase and don't pack another. Instead, just bring a little bag to take things back and forth to/from where you're staying.
My Wife and I took a 3500 mile trip BEFORE we heard that tip! Oh, well. I'll know the next time.
