The reviewer may have waxed poetic about the RX7 but IMHO it is still not nearly as attractive a ride as the Z and this comes from a former RX7 owner of an 83, '85 SE, and '87 Turbo.

The RX8 is a bland car at best. Sucks gas and has a rather Pinto look. Test drove the Stick and Auto. Bought the Z touring. Never looked back.

"Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) hates the 350Z"
If you watch that Top Gear episode over again, you'll find that Jeremy hates the Z for almost no reason, or for trivial reasons at best (like exhaust not or presence of subwoofer).
If you watch 5th Gear, you'll see that Tiff Needell has a much more objective approach. He doesn't say he hates teh RX8 because of the sound it makes or the nationality of the components. He hates it because it sucks in comparison from a race car drivers perspective. Anybody who knows how to drive a performance vehicle correctly, and has tested both the 350Z and the RX8, should jump all over the Z and never look back. I personally believe that Jeremy has a problem with Nissan in general, and therefore his reviews are biased. He can't really find anything wrong with the functionality of the Z, the only things he ever complains about are the subjective aspects. His only valid comment is of the poor quality plastic on the interior, which is true. Everything else he says about the car is total crap.
