A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I have often seen people talking about how many G's they see versus how many Z's. Well...hopefully this can clear things up a bit.
It appears that there are 2.51 times more G's than there are Z's on the road. Or, put another way, out of the total 96,006 G's and Z's that sold in the US, only 39.69% were Z's.
So now the speculating is over. There are more than twice as many G's than Z's...kinda makes me feel good about the car that I own...
Then of course you have to consider the fact that the G35 comes in a sedan and a coupe version. If you were to strip out the sedan, I bet that the numbers come much closer to parity.
But the numbers don't lie!
Previously owned: 2005 Z Enthusiast, Super Black, 6 spd.

i think when most people talk about the G35 on this forum we're talking about the coupe. Most would agree the sedan is a completely different car. i'm curious how many coupes were sold.

pretty much any engine will fit in any car with modification. You can strap a 454 in a Geo Metro if you want to.

Haulnazz, do you do engine work? Like turbo's and stuff?

A:
never even been in a turbo'd car before. My knowledge is strictly through reading. I've done about every type of external engine work (i.e. water pumps, starters, alternators, radiators, spark plugs, fuel system. Never any internal work though. Miscellaneous v8's, v6's. some domestic, some foreign. I understand the concepts and know all of the interior compnents and how they function, but never had any "hands-on" experience.

Interesting data, but about I figured if you go coupe vs z.
As far as 'any engine will fit in any car with modification', that is probably true. You can probably fit a BENZ V12 in a civic if you just lay it from the dash into the trunk inside the car. You couldn't actually use that to power the car though. However, to get the powerstreeing, brakes, AC, cruise control [or electric modules], etc. to all fit, you have defined limits based on the demensions of the bay.
