Door Ding

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I got a quarter sized depression on the driver's side door, right where the body line goes from gradual to steep sloping. YOu guys know what I am talking about right? Anyway the point is, it isn't creased, and I was wondering...what is the best approach to having it repaired (Should I get like the mobile dent doctor or is that risky?), and how much should it cost?
Thanks for the help. Word to the wise (as Zazu has now pointed out to me) Never park next to pickup trucks...period. It just is not smart. Even for the owners who care enough to watch out for others cars...the doors are just too large and heavy, and hard to control...you just never know. Gosh this pisses me off.

i dunno about that, my truck doors are shorter and easier to control than my 2000 camaro's doors were. Those doors caught wind something awful, and were so long that it was a pain to get in/out of without having to keep a finger between my doors and someone's else's cars. F-body's suck. lol, sorry i have no input for the dings.
I'd say park away from the POS's and anything driven by a woman. (not being sexist, just that most females don't think about dinging the door, and when it happens, ita always a "whoops" and a shoulder shrug!!)

The dent wizards do wonders. I would call them. About 8 years ago it was $40.00. Today probably about $70.00. Make several calls & try to "wheel & deal"! Just make sure you find up front exactly what the end result is going to look like before you have them do the job. You want perfection!! Good Luck!

When I bought my Z I decided to never park near any other cars if it was possible. I park at the very end of all parking lots and even then try to get the last spot in a line where one side of the car is protected by a curb. It might be a longer walk sometimes but so what, it's good exercise and I don't have to worry as much about dings and scratches.
