i noticed when shifting gears, i noticed a a slight popping noise from the rear axel. the nissan dealer told me that they would have to apply some type of grease at the end of both axels and replace all the bolts on the axel as well.
does this sound right?
any recall on this topic?

There is a TSB for the axle bearings where they change them out.

Man, I have the same problem. When I drive slow I can hear it. It sounds like a damn board is stuck in my wheel bay. I had them fix it once before, and now its back. Damn.

is it a clicking noise??? for instance when i set in the slope of my driveway and pulled forward up the slope... the rear transaxle would click... they replaced the bearings and now i have no problem with drivetrain... with the exception of the rattling of the tranny, which i have to drop my car off tomorrow for a new tranny install... complements of Nissan...$2600 saved Woo HOO!
