1958 or 59 Chrysler Windsor

General Chat

Q:

Any one interested in a car like this?
It's setting outside about a mile from my house. It's just going to set there and rot. Outside of the car looks real nice. Can't say about the inside.
It's a two tone paint job, light blue green and white. I haven't seen the front, but three side look good from the road.
I ask if it was for sale and they said yes. They also said it's mostly original.
Could prolly be had for under 2K.
Any interest? Anyone?

if it was more of a 48 to a 54, i'd be intersted. the 59 is too homely...

I'm 100% positive it's a 58 or 59.
If I were to guess it's a 59.

Don't know abt the value on these. The rare model was a '57 300. These were fairly ordinary & middle of the line, not the top like a NY'er or an Imperial. Built real heavy, but rode worse than the coil spring rear-ended GM cars, so they were not as popular when new. But, that makes them more scarce now. From the look of the fins I'd guess its a '59.
Rusty but running.
Polish cell phone and two tubes of Aluma-seal.
And, now we are historic.

There are not a lot of these lovable old dinosaurs left and only rreally rare and mint cars bring a lot of money.
I think they would be sleepers and worth restoring becasue you can get the car without paying premium prices.
I think '55 60 '57 Chevies are nice but overpriced and over collected. So many at the shows and cruise nights it's "ho hum another chevy".
But drive a dyno-car with big fins ("Baby Got Back") and see the interest you'll get.
The back seats are like a honeymoon suite and the trucks can hide all the bodies you're likely to need to hide.
I've lived in smaller apartments.
