it is nice, i really like it much more than the new retro mustang but i feel like designing that car wasn't a huge task. It looks like a 60's camaro on steroids, which may sell, but the creativity coming out of detroit just sucks these days, it's a big design disapointment in my eyes. Id rather them ax the camaro name and come up with an all new design. Of course they're trying to be safe and come out with something they know will sell, but i still think they're resting on their laurels. oh well, it's a nice iteration of the camaro anyways.

It's going to have a 6.0L V-8 engine? It'll be thirsty. Not only will it have retro styling but it will have retro fuel economy, like 12 mpg city. That's a car for 20-30 years ago, not now. Gas prices will probably go higher yet. I'll stick with my Nissan 3.0L turbo V-6 with it's decent fuel economy.
A:
needs a facelift in the front...give me more grille!
A pushrod 6.0 though? I thought technology had progressed to OHC...of course someone with a lot more credit than myself designed the thing...so...maybe Im out of line...

that is FUGLY! they need to flatten the nose a bit to resemble the original Camaro. I would bet big dollars that the design changes before it goes into production

gaanaag,
If you would have kept reading and paid attention you would have read that the engine can disable 4 of the cylinders (much like the new Chrysler 300's engine) to allow it to get 30mpg.
God must love stupid people, he made SOOOOO many of them!
A:
I think I'm the only person who thinks that thing looks AMAZINGLY badass. Wow!

I think the Challenger looks TOO retro IMO. Looks almost just like the original. Bleh, come up with something new. Not saying its a bad car, I like it, but it just looks too retro.

the challenger = the ****
the camaro = **** just like gm for the last 20+years (but at least they are getting a v8 rear drive car with some power back in the line up) - you either had to buy a stang or go all the way up to the vett
and chevy dosnt do the OHC in there v8 why im not sure but they make the same or more power than ford and chrysler with OHC engiens so whatever works the day chevy makes a real performance OHC v8 it will be all over i think + there V8s get hella good MPG look at the new vetts and the gtos

I love the rear biased cabin. If you look at it the rear seats are almost on top of the rear axle. Gives it an extremely aggressive stance, without sacrificing anything. If they flatten the hood in the center, and raise the wheel flares on the front I'd buy one. Its a gorgous car, and it needs very little tweaking to be an awesome production car.
'73 Turbo, not much stock. Sold now... :-(
A:
the challenger kicks the camaros butt!! Why are you all dogging the pushrod v8's??? If I remember correctly, they're still powering the fastest dragsters, and have ben since day 1. Also, getting 400+hp, out of that "ancient" technology with no forced induction is saying a lot. Bigger engine mind you, but the technology works the same as ours, just less complicated! I'd take a new z06 with that pushrod any day of the week!

ha if you think 400 hp is a lot from a push rod try 505 NA HP know that says a lot!
That new Camaro is bad ass!

2002 Z28 LS1 T56 yes its fast no you cant drive it!
A:
zman, i said 400+hp, thats without having to bore everyting out and rebuild the bottom end, etc etc. The 2006 Zo6 i mentioned has 500+ hp, and still gets 17 mpg in the city. The NA won't do that. The NA wouldn't be near as dependable either, its just a matter of size really.

There's talk of a Z/28 08/09 Camaro, with the Z06 engine in it for those that want big ponies. The 04 GTO's avg highway gas mileage is 29 with the manual tranny. 400 hp? 29 mpg? You can't beat that!
