Chevrolet Inline Six Hillborn Setups.
But ITB's are a "HIGH TECH NEW THING"...
LOL
It's interesting that they are set up for the carburetted L-Engine Bolt Pattern, though that second one will have a heluva time holding down the headers!
Both are setups for Mechanical Fuel Injection.

Hmmm, I was curious about the fuel delivery, explain mechanical fuel injection please.

Drinve onf the crankshaft.
Distributor relocated to the end of the camshaft.
Fuel distributor moved to where the sparky dizzy once was... That gives you sequential injection which has road-race tractability.
Now, if you go straight Hilborn, then it's a CIS setup, and similar, no dizzy relocation, but a restrictive orifice in the return line that is throttle position linked, determining fuel injection and delivery rate.
Egads, I don't EVEN want to talk about that system!
Give me EFI ANY day!
You don't even want to TRY streetability with that setup!

Can't say I have ever heard of mechanical EFI on a Z, would be kinda intresting to see a complete set-up.
Wonder what it would take to convert those to megasquirt EFI. Unless some heavy bidding starts the price is right for someone with some skills to give it a try.

Paul Neuman used a 2.5L Turbocharged engine in IMSA competition. Gene Crowe set up the engine to use mechanical fuel injecton. He drove the distributor of the cam, from the front of the valve cover, and used the old distributor to run the roosamaster fuel injection distributor for fuel distribution.
This was about the same time Hughes / Electramotive started rewriting the book on EFI in competition engines....

I don't see any reason the runners couldn't be tapped for a balance tube, or for standard fuel injectors.
It's extremely tempting, actually.

Yea, MECHANICAL FI. NOT ELECTRICAL! Plus, that second auction, you cant run with a hood, runners goes strait up , so no hood with that, or a slotted hood.
