Hey guys, should (opinion) painting the car be the very last step when im trying to fix up my 240z? Right now, i am getting ready to drop a stock L28 in, and slap on my triple mikunis, but THEN, the auto shop got a nice chunk of paint off of my hood. I got an estimate of $690 (wow) to repaint the whole hood, and believe it or not, that was the cheaper of the two estimates. Now, i could take this $690 and put it towards some nice new paint all around the car that i have been looking forward too, but how much do you think a decent paintjob would cost? I've got the color all lined up and everything. Money is not a huge problem seeing as i am at 3 different jobs right now, but i would like to know what someone else has gotten painted for. (their Z..... getting painted.... of course)

How bad is the body,rust ect. do you want them to pull the windows take off all the emblems, remove all lights bumpers and so on. You get my drift.
figure at min $3K and go up from there to your max $. good luck

the only rust thats not surface rust is on the passenger frame rail. The body is very straight, hardly any dings, it seems like it would be a very straight forward job.
just so i can get some feedback, im thinking of paint my Z either burnt orange, or cinnamon pearl (both house of kolor)

Anywhere in there is a normal range.
Some I ahve seen were well in excess of $7K---matter of fact the average cost for the Nissan program cars was $7K for the paint alone.

So now that ive got that over with, i want some feedback, i have a picture of a car with the burnt orange paint i want, but ive never seen it on a Z. My dad's favorite car (68 dodge charger with a black hard top) had the same color, and i think it would look flat out amazing on a 240. check it out and lemme know what you think...
