A:
didn't that guy get killed in the end?
A:
Yeah, if I'm not mistaken he got stuck (somehow or another he was stopped) and they opened the hatch and shot him.

I think he hit a concrete divider in the center of a highway, and lost manuverability.
But yea, I remember seeing a Z getting flattened now that I think about it.

he went over the center divider on the highway at a terrible angle, it was VERY lucky that he was stopped there, and yes, they did shoot him. But before they did, he ripped through motorhomes, knocked down stop lights, and caused havoc, and it all made for a very kool real TV video.

HA-HA! I remember when that actually happened! At the end, I remeber the whole police force got into that tank and POW- POW-POW! It had to happen. It was too insane! What if some guy was eating a meatball, (12") in that Z? The tomato sause would be squished EVERYWHERE! The hood was like an "on-ramp!" Ouch! Sardine can city. - NK

honestly it seemed/seems a little excessive to me. he didn't hurt any people, only property. he didn't even attempt to hurt people from what i remember.
now i'm in the mood for subway.
A:
That's a typical liberal attitude. Have you ever tried to stop one of those things??? It's not gonna happen. The guy who took it was high on something, and was ordered multple times to cease control of it. The police officer (yes - just one) who shot him had no other choice considering that tank wouldn't have stayed high centered for long on the concrete divider. Maybe you could have coaxed him out my holding his hand and talking to him though ehhh???
Everybody's so quick to criticize law enforcement officers and their rationale for doing things. That officer acted in the best manner possible to preserve the publics safety......Period
Now back to the main topic, yeah that is pretty unfortunate for the Z!

Yeah, he got shot with one round. Good that way. But did nobody notice that just before that the right side track rolled off and made that tank useless.
A:
I must admit, I didn't catch that. Either way he was scum and deserved what he got :)
A:
there are many other ways they could have gotten him out of the tank rather than shooting him. maybe we should shoot you the next time you make a mistake.
if people got shot everytime they didn't listen to an "authority figure" only the lemmings would be left.
A:
A mistake???? HA! Surely you jest! A mistake is running a red light becasue you were playing with your radio or talking on your cell phone. Not causing millions of dollars in damage, and terrorizing an entire city. Bet you'd have a different attitude if that was your $50,000 dollar motorhome that got turned into splinters. And just because nobody was hurt doesn't mean they weren't targeted. They were just smart enough to get out of the way.
Have you ever tried to wrestle a person high on PCP or Meth???
It's because of people like you that lawmakers are wanting to constantly limit the little bit of power that Law enforcement officers have left to protect you. Next thing you'd probably say is that we should ban all guns and have the cops carry billy clubs ehh??

"In May 1995, Shawn Nelson, a 35 year-old plumber from Clairemont, California, emerged from an eighteen foot mine shaft he had dug beneath his backyard in search for gold. An ex-soldier and methamphetamine abuser, he stole a tank from a nearby National Guard armory and went on a rampage through the residential streets of his neighborhood, crushing cars and lampposts until the cops took him down."
The guy wouldn't come out and was still trying to get the tank moving when he was shot. It was a good shoot.
A:
Absolutely a good shoot!
Hey, I'm all for preserving life. Matter of fact, that is one of the main mission statements of an SRT or SWAT team. I know because I was on an SRT for a couple years. Sometimes however, and unfortunately. In order to preserve life, you might have to take one.
A:
explain to me how shooting that guy preserved life? lol
i also like pound's statement... he wouldn't come out so they shot him. hell of an excuse to shoot someone.
yes, ban guns and give cops billy clubs. i don't trust cops with guns anyway.
i could out run a tank in my z.

I liked the Wacko stand off where all they had to do was wait but instead the cow boys had to go in with guns blazing.
I bet Hans Blix feels the same way about Iraq.

Yeah, I'd have to agree on the Wacko thing. Although, I don't know what the particulars were or the information they had ion what was going on inside the actual compound, but from what I know it was a little retarded to go into there. Why were we even there to begin with??
