Q:
I have everything hooked up and working corectly in my primary ignition citcuit but my coil wil not produce a spark. I called the coils company and the coil tests out fine and the resistance is right on with their specs. I can not get the damn thing to spark though. Am I missing anything here?
1) Resistance is perfect between the (+) and (-) posts of the coil.
2) Resistance is perfect between the (-) and tower of the coil.
3) I'm getting 12V(+) to the (+) terminal of the coil and the same voltage out of my (-) side.
4) My (-) side of the coil pulses open anc closed when I crank the car over.
5) I have brand new cap, rotor, wires and plugs.
If all of this is working corectly shouldnt I get a spark?
I even ran a wire directly from my bat(+) to the coil and a wire from the coil (-) to my bat (-) and kept breaking the gound circuit and I could not get a spark from the coil tower. I am at a loss here.
If my coil is getting power and the ground is opening shouldnt there be power at the tower?

Where are you "breaking" the ground for the coil at?

I just have the wire coming from the coil (-) and the other end is bare. I have another section of wire bolted on one of the 10MM screws on top of my intake and I am brushing the two bare ends of wire to eachother. I can get a spark once in a while out of my coil but it is super weak.

OK, sounds like the problem I had last summer. Run a heavy guage ground wire from the battery (-) terminal to a spot or two on the block/head of your engine. I had a dual terminal battery and bought an actual battery cable for the (-) side terminal. I used one of the front engine lifting lug bolts. Wire brush everything really good.

I had an instance one time where I thought the coil was bad, did most of the checks you did, but found that several of the spark plugs were bad. Just a thought.

I have a ground kit on my bat (-) with 8 leads going everywhere. Having a good ground is not my problem. Battery is new and charged, Bat (+) is new and the ground kit is new. I have an adjustable secondary ignition tester and the gap is closed down to .25 inch and it jumps the gap once in a great while but even then its weak.

set the meter to ohms and check between either terminal and ground,(the coil housing) if you get a reading the coil is shorted. check the coil wire and look for green snot inside the tower. i know you already did that.

The electronic ignition shorts the -neg side to ground through a transistor. I think your problem is in that part of the circuit.
btw Are you looking for a spark from the coil's output or are you looking at a plug?

I have an adjustable secondary tester that is a screw down set up that adjusts the spark gap and it has the KV marked on it. My coil barely sparks 5000 volts. And it sparks like once out of every 50 tries. I've tried it with a spark plug too and get the same results. Very weak intermitend sparks.

Ignition switch or wiring. You are getting voltage but not current. Probably a short to another powered wire which is bleeding off current.
