I have nothing against the design but one thing you have to think about.
The more moving parts you put in an engine, the more possible problems you add.
SPEED IS MY DRUG OF CHOICE..LET ME DRIVE!
A:
Yeah that is impressive, and complicated, a good reason for turbine development. Sweet post.

I worked on horizontally opposed common combustion chamber Ajax and Fairbanks-Morse engines (Twin Crankshafts on a single engine), that Delta configuration is neat as hell. Like Three stacked against each other!
I would like to see the real thing in operation.
Hell, people have a problem with firing order on our simple L-Series, what would they do with the firing order having to do with "A" Crankshaft, "B" Crankshaft, and "C" Crankshaft!!!

its actually very simple if you could see it the way i do, all it basicly is, is inline 6 engines placed in a circle that are all synchronized by a gear set.
here is the sync. gears

Where does the HEAD fit?
A common Combustion chamber is a neat setup no matter which way you look at it.
I think most miss the fact that the piston crown of the opposing piston is the combustion chamber roof for any given cylinder.
Variable compression, anyone? Wha, to do that you would need a moveable head. Like with an opposed piston common combustion chamber engine like this...

I saw this engine in a train museum in Middlesbrough England. I thought it was a really neat application. Triangular shape makes it strong and it is fairly light weight for the horsepower it produces.
