Best car alarm

General Chat

Q:

Which is the best car alarm that you guys would suggest using in protecting our Z's? It seems like Z cars are a bait to theifs and it happens too often. I plan on getting a TT by next Feb. or March, and a good car alarm is one of my first things to install. Im lookin for something that'll disable the starter and render the car useless; something better than the stock alarm. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If it aint a Z, It aint worth ur time.

alarms? those are almost a joke.
disabling is better with a kill swith on the fuel and ignition.

OTC alarms are nothing more then a short annoyance for thieves. They are bipassed in about 10 seconds. The best alarm for a car next to computerizing your key - a pit bull and a .357 magnum.

A cheap $10 kill switch is more effective than an alarm. Next time an alarm goes off in a parking lot, see if people walking around really look or care. People don't give a shittt and continue with their daily business. In my opinion, car alarm is a nuisance and should be ban.
It gets to a point where people with alarms play with the noise [turn on alarm], "hey look at me, I have a car alarm, I'm a loser, hey look at me [turn off alarm].....[turn on stereo loud] "hey look at me, I'm a loser, I have a loud system, I'm cool, look at me, I'm talking on my cell phone, I'm so hot."[turn off stereo]

Those things that isolate the battery from the rest of the car are pretty cool, I'd trust that over a car alarm any day, car alarms are only nuisances.

For some reason, once they hooked up an alarm on my 'burb, I can't
turn the ignit. key without getting locked in...(PITA)
....not to mention the number of times the alarm went off in the garage
(which is unattached from the house) and would run the battery down...

Trunk monkey would work great for a Z. If you see a killer monkey in the back would YOU want to steal it?
