That's the dealership that sold the original owner my 66 Corvair Corsa. I used to live about a block from their facility.

Hey Tony,
I like your sig. I think some of the former supervisors I had when I was in the Marines need convincing that respect is earned, not entitled. LOL.
God must love stupid people, he made SOOOOO many of them!

I beg to differ...that's what the OLD SCHOOL funny cars looked like. They still had some resemblance to the stock production body lines, unlike the door stopper wedge looking crap they're running nowadays. But most of the kids on here weren't even born back when that car was running.
Thanks for the pic Ken. I keep forgetting that NHRA posts them weekly on their site. I'm a member too, but usually only read the stories of the happenings.

that thing has some HUGE back tires...
A:
I'll give you that unlike today's funny cars it does more than vaugely resemble the car it says it is. But that is a UGLY color scheme and paint job.

you should see how tall and narrow those HUGE back tires get when he lights them up.
iagree with Customlock about the appearance- back then you could tell every body style and make at a glance where now they all kinda look the same.
Cool pic thanks Ken.

What I like seeing is the silver fire suit, goggles and respirators. When I first saw pictures of drag racing, that was one of the things that caught my eye. One of my early car magazines had a pic of a guy decked out in one of these silver fire suits, sitting at a outside table at a taco stand with his funny car parked like some street rod. I can't remember the name on the side, it might have been Barry Setzer.

I really dig seeing the old fuelers and funnies of the 70s. Kinda reminds me of the Don Purdhome's 1/24th scale yellow "Snake" top fuel dragster model I built & entered in eight grade and won the school model contest.
My hats off to these guys that have formed the sport to what it is today. I don't think you can ever take the racer out the man. Seeing John on an episode of Speed Channel where he was interviewed, and to see his raw enthusiasm for his fellow competitors in a semi round was way cool.

I have that model 95% built....although, it won't be painted in Prudhome livery. I always like the independents, so mine will be an independent, and probably only a business body instead of the full body kit.
