Hey guys I just got a 2002 Nissan Frontier 4x4 with a Supercharger. I just replaced the passager side exhaust manifold that was cracked and now my Serivce Engine Soon light is on and I want to run the codes but can not find the ECU.

I believe its under the dash, right where the center console meets the tranny tunnel. Just going by the 01 FSM so it might not be 100% accurate.

There is something that looks like an ecu in that area but there is no screw to turn to start checking codes.

Yea, that has to be it. You might have to unbolt it and pull it out a bit. I don't know, I haven't had to check any codes yet on mine. If you still can't get it try asking over at http://www.nissanforums.com/frontier/ or clubfrontier.org. Good luck.

why not just use the OBDII port to read the codes?

Yeah but then I have to go buy a code reader to find my codes.
