I'm thinking about buying the 'How to rebuild..' Datsun book, or the 'How to modify' -- which one do you think has a higher educational value?

i have the how to modify it definatly shows you alot of useful in formation, evena chilton maual shows u how to rebuild, so go with one that shows you tips on performance......... :)

I agree on the "How to modify" It gives you a few options depending on what you are going to use your engine for. Street prep, mild prep, race prep. It goes from simple to very complex and everything in between. The only downfall to that book is there are a lot of really nice products listed in the book as NLA (No Longer Available) for the L series engine.

It also has a really cool section on the DOHC head that was made for it. I think there is a address to a place in Japan that sold them at some point.
