Hello,I have an '85 720 with the z24 engine,.auto tranny. I blew that one and bought a whole '83 with the same engine and tranny. When I tried it out the engine would sit there and idle and rev up very nicely. But when I'd shift into anything except park, it would just sit there with no throttle response at all, even when pressed to the floor. I thought it must be a bad tranny. Well, I've transplanted it into my truck(engine only) and the problem as well, but I know THIS tranny is good, it was just fine before the engine took a dive. Any help, or pointers would be greatly appericated!,Thanks,Mike. p.s. I didn't mess with the linkage.It had the same problem in the donor truck that it now has in my truck.I'm stumped.

Check your linkage hookup.You might have missed something,or knocked something out when swapping the motor.Remember:the devil is always in details.

I own an '82 Datsun 720 4x4...and I need some body panels. Mainly the bed...
I currently have the Z22 engine in it. But I would like to do something else.
I saw a cardomain sight a few years back with a guy who stuffed a Buick 3.7L Turbo V6 in one of these trucks.
