During Thanksgiving our family did a little jam session and recorded a few crude recordings (we suck). But we are just learning the whole recording bit. Anyway I found a site to host music files and want to see if this works. I posted us doing an Offspring song. Its me (on guitar), my son (on drums) and 2 of my daughters singing. Its kind of funny and like I said, we stink. Let me know what you think and if the link works for you. Its 5megs so you might do a right click save as.

Yea the recorder was clipping alot and that was our second try at that song. Ive got some others I need to transfer to my pc from tape and they sound a little better. Im 43 and trying to learn stuff they listen to. Im old school rock.

I thought the recoding quality was pretty decent. Given my garage band experience. We were just doing stereo with an old 4 track. I wish we could have done more of a multi-channel directional multi track recording ala Cinerama style. But hey 3 chords and an attitude!!! Keep it up!

You have a neat little band there, I wouldn't worry about the quality of tunes. You are spending some quality time with you kids doing something fun, TOGETHER. It doesn't get any better than that!
Now that you have tried some of their music, teach them an old Skynyrd song and let those gals so some "ooooh, oooooh, ooooohs" southern rock style. hehehehehehehe
BTW, I thought your guitar licks were pretty awesome. I am 40 and have been self-teaching myself to play an acoustic. Hardest thing I ever tried in my life. I have been practicing a few xmas songs for the family get together over the holidays, I just hope the dogs don't start howling. lol

I just purchased alot of pa equipment. The family has alot of fun with it. Im recording using a Mackie CFX16 channel mixer utilizing 5 mics on the drums and one on my amp plus vocal mics. Im still learning the mixer controls. I patch the record outs to a sony cassette deck and after recording transfer that to pc using audacity to record from the cassette player. I have a few extra pc's laying around and need to stick a soundblaster audigy or better in one and just record straight to the pc using audacity. My boys has been playing drums for a year and Ive messed around with the guitar since I was 16. Ive got a new bass and bass amp which my 2 youngest daughters play around with. Its fun

Hey dad ....yeah BushmasterM4 is my dad he's the one who got in started on the whole Z thing......Hey dad...maybe i could get bass lessons at J&L??? ne ways we should have Brooksy, chris, andrew and dane over and have a HUGE recording session lol that would be crazy!!ne ways i know mom doesnt wnat me having a fast car like a Z but i would REALLY REALLY REALLY appriciate having one ....like REALLY!!! lol....umm hey maybe after Christmas i can use that new camcorder and make music video's for Aaron and them....DUDE that would be SOOOOOOOO cool!!!!!!!.........yeah......ne ways im gunna work on my movie...i love you!!!

Thats awesome man, congrats on that. I actually did some recording this season as well. I would post it, but we're actually in the process of getting a patent for our songs. I will post the song some time in the future, but great job! great music selection too.

That would be wonderful, but you can't patent songs (lack of utility). Songs are protected by copyright.
