That is a new one on me. I have the ECCS tester, I was not sure if they made a unit for standard EFI, but I guess they did.
The guy wants to much for the unit, I think.

Before ECCS, and after Nissan realized most auto techs in 1975 didn't have a CLUE on using a multimeter properly, they came up with a "Check Box" to make the troubleshooting more "idiotproof"...
The ECCS checker is a different animal, and these don't work on the 79-83 units unless it's a later model. LOOKS like a later model, so it should be universal. I've bought from this guy before, and if he's saying it's 75-up, it's probably the later model.

I remember the day that that suitcase arrived at the dealership. Tony D, you're correct, we didn't have a clue about fuel injection and the anaylizer was supposed to streamline the diagnostic process. The analyzer was unreliable and confusing at best because it suffered as many or more gremlins as the first generation fuel injection systems. Just my $.02 worth

Any EFI or ECCS system can be checked by using the procedures in the FSM. Most guys have been doing that already. I've never seen a problem that required the use of an analyzer to diagnose. It would be more a cool piece of automotive history than an actual diagnostic tool. I also agree that he's asking too much.

1982/83 280ZXT CAS unit.
Without the ECCS Analyzer, or knowledge of how to use an O-Scope, you can not diagnose those units! The FSM says to hook up the ECCS Check Box to dagnose it!
