Well, at least nobody will be searching on "Tony D" so that flurry of posts in Tech shouldn't clutter up the search engine.
Apparently someone has issues with mastering the concept of "Click".
Anyway, to my subject and latest update, the damn oil pan on the 510 is a one-off, and hoisting the stuff up in the air confirmed my hypoithesis that I need a rear-sump oil pan to install it in the Wagon.
Soooo, I'm off to AZ or Kragen to see what kind of Master Gasket Kit I can dig up---I will need them eventually since the SSS intake manifold will go on there, and that downdraught will go the way of the wind.
I was hoping to have it all in there and bolted up, but both the boy and me are running 103 Fevers, and I was sweating like a hog putting it in for a trial fit/measurement.

They all steered clear while I was sorting out their CDA System. Had walking Pneumonia, and was horking out bright yellow chunks of spittle. Nose and Throat were both like Faucets.
I told the guys to just "STAY AWAY" and to "Sprinkle the whole CDA Room with HTH and Steam Clean it before ANYONE goes in there!"

Wooonderful time. Since then I have been a Sudafed/Actifed guy at the first sign on Sinusitis. If I can keep it out of my lungs, I'll be O.K., but this Sudafed isn't cheap, and it isn't covered by the deductible on my health insurance. It this was in January, I could be using FSA Funds for my Sudafed---but that is weeks away. Man I hate spending money on Anti-Hork Meds!

Christmas Break, Easter Break, and the whole damned Summer!
I noticed it long ago, and for the past few year make sure to try and call it out for other people to notice. There probably is a post here in Car Talk about it within the past two weeks.
Yeah, my health insurance changes Jan1---shouldn't affect this since I really rely on my wife's coverage since it's cheaper and better than what I select where I work. I just went out and got more Sudafed and some Tylenol Sinus to keep the drainage under control.
The beyotch is I go through that stuff like candy since I know the dosing requirements for Pseudoephedrine out of the PDR (mg/Kg) and the packages they sell really aren't meant for someone of my...uh..."Mass". I couldn't figure out why I never had any good effect in the past, but when I figured that out OTC Meds began working again! No more arguing with the PA at the hospital about dosing, about what works with me or what doesn't. Just medicate myself and bypass the whole healthcare system altogether! LOL
Yeah, for a guy who washed out of the engineering program and then went into the Army to figure out his direction in life he sure talks big...
For someone with five years in the military he should know better. I mean, TWO POSTS and he's all blazing up the board with swarf!
There are other guys in the general area where he lives who have gotten that 'Suprise' phone call out of the blue. I mean, he made it sooo easy. And with the travel I do, I can WARRANT I will be in his location within a year.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure out what has happened around here in the last year. Its been enough to make me just want to turn my back and walk away from it all...its very irritating. When I first found the site there were many like Kammy, Tony, and Blue that impressed me with their knowledge. Seems like the ones that haven't left are getting attacked by a bunch of know-it-alls that are only a "legend in their own minds". Those phalluses are only destroying what little credibility there is left and proving that they themselves have none.

Tony D. Sudafed and like medications are to clear nasal conjestion.
You need anti-histimine to dry up the drippage and keep it out of the lungs.
If it gets worse, see a doctor and prob. you'll get an anti-biotic. Don't fool around with the pneumonia.
Been there and done that and almost didn't get treated in time. If you have real pains breathing especially in your back as well as front lungs get treated NOW!
If it's just your average flu or cold - one pack Thera Flu (lemon flavor) hot water 1/2 recommended on pack and 8 0z. of Bourbon. At least if things get worse you won't care - just sleep through it - call me in the morning.

Well, let's think about this. Sudafed cold formula is four drugs, and while alleviating the symptoms, does not treat the cold or flu itself; Sudafed works by: (1) killing the pain with acetominophen (2) reducing fluid production in the nasal passages (pseudoephedrine) (3) preventing cough (dextromethorphan) and (4) guaifenesin to break up lung congestion.
(1) is good. (2) is debateable, (3) is ok, and (4) is good.
This "gumming" that occurs when the mucus thickens up (and gets coughed/sneezed out, rather than running out) actually slows the ability of your body to remove the virus. If you don't have to leave your house, you may actually be better off not taking Sudafed and letting your body naturally drain the junk out (and keep drinking lots of water!).
As for antibiotics, they will treat bacterial pneumonia, but not viral. And they shouldn't be taken unless you're sure it's bacterial, otherwise you're just allowing the bacteria in your body to build immunity to the antibiotic.
One of the best home treatments that I have heard of is to suck saline solution into your nasal cavities and drain it out. The salt will reduce the viral count and prevent further bacterial infection from the cold, as well as clearing your head and drying your nose for a few hours.

Yep, every Four Hours.
I am using the sudafed as you stated to dry the mucus production up in the nasal passages. This has worked to great effect in the past reducing what gets drained down to the lungs. Sleeping upside down is a PITA!
The doc in Indonesia recomended a saline snort, and it's another PITA but seems to clear it up faster after the bad parts went away.
The fever is breaking today I think, and started snorting this morning. Due again at 2pm....
That stuff burns if you mix it yourself! NOT RECOMENDED!!! Get saline solution form a Medical Supply House...

Hey, Tony! Being sick with a cold and/or flu-like is the excuse I gave my wife yesterday as to how in the hell I was dumb enough to try (and succeed) to get an L24 on a rolling cart by myself. I'm now typing this on my stomach waiting for the muscle relaxers to kick in again. This morning I thought I was going to have to call for a trip to the hospital. On the level of 1 to 10, these spasms were a 9.5.
The last time I hurt this bad was after a round went thru the radiator of a jeep we were hiding behind (just back from some great R & R and still in civies). I got 2nd and 3rd degree burns on the back of my hand and down my legs. And how I managed to position my hand there in time is still a puzzle to me.
You and your kid get well, real soon.......see you in Texas in '06.
A:
They keep the pseudoephedrine behind the counter now because counter people couldn't keep track of methheads shoplifting twenty packages at a time from the same store...
It's hit or miss, though...some of the stuff they have out is 60mg Pseudoephedrine, and the 30mg Sudafed is behind the counter. Doesn't make much sense.
Hell, like YORGO posted, cooking up meth ain't that hard anyway, a kid could do it. Watch out for the containers of blue cool-aid!

Meth has become a raging monster in the Tennessee rural areas. My neighbor works on the Sheriff's Meth lab cleanup team and his wife helps find clothes, toys, etc.. for the children taken from these terrible situations.
The stores here in Crossville have put every known stop check in place to stop OTC drug sales to the meth monkeys. The auto parts stores don't even keep brake cleaner on the common shelves. You have to show a DL if you want more than one bottle.
I have even seen meth recipes that use "white out". The worst I have heard of are the stories of meth monkeys in jail cutting off their sores/scabs to recook for another hit.............
Sad!

meth addiction is running rampant here in rural nebraska also-- it has to do with the availability of anhidrous ammonia in tanks on every farm-- they started putting a colored dye in it to show on the tanks exterior and ground around it when they steal it.--the effects of meth use is unbeleivable-- youre right about the effects on small children when exposed to it.
