Q:
Got given a phat 97 Nissan laurel the other day with 108k kms, with some 17's. But the only downside is the 114 kW 2litre RB20e engine.
What should i go for?
Option 1. Thinking if it is possible to put an RB20DET head, manifolds and turbo on it.
Option 2. Just go for the straight engine swap. RB25DET or something.
It's luxury as driving it, just needs some boost and some super lows.

That's a good looking sedan. I say go for the swap, there's a ton of room in that bay.
Look into the VH45DE + forced induction first, though.

I bet that thing is painfully slow, looks too big to have a sohc 2.0 I6.

Thanks, 3012 lbs i think i read somewhere so it aint too heavy and slow.
What cars do the VH45DE come in? Im thinking of another RB so i don't have to modify the mounts and she'll just bolt right up.

Just 3012lbs? thats suprising, looks much heavier.
the 4.5 came in Cimas and presidents in Japan, Q45s here in the states. I think a RB25 would be a nice fit for that car.

how about an RB30ET? arent they super common over in aus-land and NZ>? that would get that thing going. then some more boost and an intercooler. maybe a 3" exhaust. cheap and easy.

A measily 2932 pounds, maybe they're wrong because that site also says they're front real drive which is wrong.

You gave me some advice on how to keep my 84 300zx tuobo running on 10/25. I have another piece of information. It was in the summer when it would only run 15-40 secs. It was 80degrees out. I just went out today at 33 degrees and it ran for 3 minutes and then did the same thing it did in the summer, wouldn't stay running. So I took the AFM and put it on my 84 nonturbo and it ran great. Advanced Auto said they use the same AFM. Is the problem based on a temperature sensor? Thank You for your help!
