Well it's been 10mos. since I bought a part from a well known member of Zcar.com. I have not recieved it. This first one he said he sent must have been lost. OK, it's been 2 mo. since he was suppose to send a second one and have not recieved it. He will not send a tracking number even though he says he has it.
I would rather him just tell me he's f-ing me over and I will not get the differential I bought from him. This way I can go get a whole one and not worry about how to get rid of the one he's sending. I don't think he has sent it, but last thing I need is someone else getting ripped off by the same person.
So my question I'm posting here is this:
Should I post the name of this person and the long history of e-mails so that someone is not ripped off? Or should I just keep waiting in hopes that he makes good on his sell? Keep in mind this is a long term member of this board and I would rather not get in a BS argument with some retard that states how dare I make comments about this person here on this board. I know you all will know who I am talking about once I state his name and I'm sure I will get atleast a somment from Tony D. No it's not Tony, but I bought from this person on Tony's vote of confidence.
What would you do?

Since he is a well thought of member of the forum, I would inform him of your intentions to post the information to the community and give him one more chance to make good on his sale. Include a resolution date, at which you will post the details unless the sale is satisfactorily completed. I realize that he does not deserve another chance, but would offer it anyways due to his reputation.

As you will see in the e-mails, if I decide to post them, I already gave him that option about a week ago in which he stated that he would send the tracking number. I'm trying to be patient and let him make good.
I know most wouldn't wait as long as I have, but we have e-mailed each other trying to keep one another updated on what's going on.
It's starting to look as though I should post it so I am sending him an e-mail today stating that the people on zcar would like to see the e-mails and hopefully he will make good.

Patience is a good thing, but 10 months? That's way too long. 3 to 4 months max, to let the guy sort out his problems. And that's being generous.

You will all see why I was so patient with him. When Tony and Jeff tell you the guy is good to buy from what are you to do. He also had some problems with his shop so that played into a good month of the wait. Plus I still need to find an R200 case for the thing anyway, lol.

post all the e-mails and info you have -let the person explain to everyone here why he would chose to rip you off.
i look at it this way-- if i went to purchase something from this person and got ripped off and than found out that you knew this person was a CROOK and kept that info to yourself until after i got ripped of too - then i would NOT have a very high opinion of you.. however i applaud your willingness and patience to let him make good for 10 months. if you told him a wk ago that you where going to post this info and he still didnt make it right then he doesnt care about his reputation and is ripping you of. its fraud --ost it. it is also apparent by the previos posts on this thread that after you post it you should have a clear conscience because you have done everyone else here a favor by warning them of a situation any of us could find themselves in.

As long as he can't produce bills of lading showing actual shipment of the items from his location to your address (shipping insured or via trackable UPS or FEDEX), then something sounds suprisingly fishy.
Of course, if he DOES have bills of lading/shipping---then the shipper may have actually lost them, and it's all a wierd bad luck story for you (and him, too, as those Diffs are not easy to come by any longer ---LSD I assume)
So that would be the determining factor. I would send ONE MORE e-mail stating what you posted here. If he can't scan and provide proof of shipping---then I'd say reveal the source. I'm curious as to both sides of the story.
When I ship stuff, I usually send an e-mail stating how it was shipped, what tracking number, etc. Sometimes I'll scan the green insurance slip and attach it to the e-mail so if something comes up missing the recipient can initiate the search work, as sometimes I am away working and can't access US Postal Facilities for months at a time!
If this is within the USA, it's ludicrous. If it's overseas, then things can take longer---like THREE MONTHS if surface shipped. I'm curious as to who it is, also, I can only think of two or three people I would recommend and it woudl suprise me very much if one was doing someting underhanded. And to say both JeffP and I both know the guy narrows that list to probably two people.

As a matter of fact even if I post the e-mails I gaurantee some people are going to say BS and I was the one doing wrong. If you read the e-mails you will see I gave him every chance to send the thing. So far I e-mailed him the link to this posts and the warning with no reply. I just hope he's not on a Vacation or something and comes back to a load of e-mails about this. For that reason I'm atleast going to remove the e-mail addresses.
I mainly posted this to see how many people think I'm out of my mind for waiting so long. I guess it's popular belief that I was.

O.K. I will be up to work at 0400 tomorrow morning (about noon there) I will make a phone call and find out WTF.
I know the legal stuff with the shop sucked up time---I actually called one day and he was in court arguing his case!
BTW, it once took 5 months to get something from there! Their postal inspection people opened it, then held it, and then sent it back after TWO MONTHS! He reposted it, they held it for another period, then he sent it AGAIN and it was another 7 weeks in the mail! When it showed up, looked like someone ripped the box open, and then put clear plastic tape over the gaping hole they punched in it! If there weren't THREE different mailing labels on it, and three sets of postage on it, I could easily suspect something was up with his end---but something is screwy in the postal system there I suspect....
I know I have sent stuff there and it has taken 3 months. Heavy stuff that goes surface freight can take forever, and if their postal people get into the same mood as they did with the one package I would shudder to think what would happen to it---talk about being held in limbo!
Not making excuses, but have had problems once it left his care. i'll call in the AM and see WTF.
Matter of fact, I got to ship some stuff Saturday or Monday that direction...Depends when I get the last bits into the crate and can find time to get over to the DHL Depot. Made a crate this time and everything! Gotta love those staple guns Harbor Freight Sells! LOL

Read my post above "Aaaaah!" I have had postal problems from that location before. Sometimes they hold packages juuuuuust as long as it would take to normally deliver them (about 2 months best scenario) and then return them to the SENDER!
Other times, crap shows up in a week. It's hit or miss. Must be the availability of...

i don't think anybody would call you in the wrong....but he's a good guy....and there has to be just an amazing explanation of what is holding it up....i've shipped many parts to him and they always take a really long time to get through...months later he finally gets them...i could only imagine if it really got lost...and with all that mail has to go through....i'm quite amazed that he even gets the stuff i send.

He man just cought this threat due to Tony who called.
I start to hesitate selling as shipment to the US of heavier parts seems to be very unsure.
I had stuff shipped to tony and back witch took 4 monts + to come, and look like they had been on a battle field, and dropped from a plain into mid ocean.
The first diff could only be traced ( after 3,5onths) to AL right t the time of Katrina.. however the tracking means filing forms, and a month wait. (got money back on that Granted, and it was insured well!)
Given late, as i had to move all stuff from my barn ( big operation) and projects on my new job ate loads of time!
I send another set 2 months ago, tracking however only works on non express within europe! now that is great.
after asking, the express stamp only garantees faster service within holland ( great the full 100 miles of it !!)
However i make you an offer to solve this situation, i allready gave you a part of the cash back.
SO bill me for the rest by paypall, ill pay it before xmas ( maxed my cc this month by buying Plain tickets to MSA)
If it however does show up you can choose:
A: use the diff, rewire the billed amount.
B: mail me and TonyD will pick up the diff.

And of course there's always the governments wanting to make sure they get a cut of the pie thru taxes, etc., etc.

In the FWIW Dept., Every time (many) I've dealt with shipping something either in or out of the country, I've used FEDEX, and it seemed to go well.
Granted, it's most times not "overnight", but to all those countries they do go to it's well worth the extra $$ in air shipping to know exactly where the stuff is at any given time. The extra $$ more than covers the harassment of just such a situation as this.
But, that's just me ..................

Tracking number only worked within Holland on non-express shipments.
So it says it left Holland, now what?
I was stuck in PENSYLVANIA because UPS & FEDEX lost an $11,000 gearset IN A BONDED CUSTOMS WAREHOUSE IN THE USA, not once.

We are taling about a box that was 2.3 feet square, andabout 6" tall weighing 45 Kg! Coming UPS RED (tracking numbers and all!) from Belgium.
Tracking numbers do SQUAT for you if it hits the bonded warehouse, and the customs broker LOOSES the shipment.
Shipping worldwide sucks, and takes forever, especially since 9-11.
Normally FedEx is pretty good with SMALL stuff, but you start dealing with their freight arm, and things get iffy, even in the USA.
All I can say is DO NOT USE MENLO!!! (Formerly Emery, Formerly BAX Global)---NOTHING but nightmares with that company. Incompetence abounds there! If you can believe it, they lost a FREAKING COMPRESSOR that was in a crate 12 ft wide, 20 ft long, and 8 or 10 ft high! TOOK A WHOLE CARGO BAY IN AN AIRCRAFT TO SHIP IT! I mean, with what they charged to ship the compressor overnight, you would think it impossible to LOOSE it, but that is EXACTLY what happened...
