Intresting story beind it, basicly some guy bought up a bunch of GM muscle cars and parts and stored them away. He died and they were sold as a lot. Never saw so many big blocks and big block parts in my life...

back when i was into domestics,i had a friend come running into a seminar i was attending to find me. he told me that a guy got struck by lightning and his family was clearing out his garage...
...and that they were selling complete big block 427 Chevy for $200 and $100 smallblocks.
i ran out of there,we jumped into my truck and zipped over there.there was a guy there picking up the 427.i was crushed.however,i bought a 454 with a highrise manifold for $200.i bought a 400 small block(complete roller) with camel hump heads for $100.and they were selling Holly carbs brand new in the box for $25.
so,i walked out with
-3 carbs ($75)
-2 engines ready to install($300)
-and a samurai sword for $10
If all were equal, none would be strong.

Maybe if no one buys the lot by the 15th he'll be selling them dirt cheap....I could really use a 427 for my vette =D.....One day...One day....
You wonder what happens to these cars when the models are so limited production. Also makes me think maybe theres more collections like this out in the world. Too bad those cars set for so long, mega bucks to bring them back to tip top shape, but worth every penny.

I talked with a local guy who is bidding on the collection and he thinks the original purchaser of the 21 trailers paid about $250K. The final sale will most likely be between $500K and $600K unless a wacky guy shows up and pays a premium. The Yenko cars and a couple of the good 427 blocks have been pulled from the lot and are being sold separately.

Unfortunately, there are opposite stories. Plenty of good cars have been left to rot because they weren't taken care of.
MMA I was sent by my co. to buy an auto parts distrib. outside a small town. The store was in a large old barn-type bldg. Searching thru the bldg. I found a trap door leading to an upstairs storeage area that the store's people did not know about. I opened the trap door and saw what looked like a fortune in pre-WW2 parts thru thick cobwebs. But, when I got a closer look, almost all the parts were ruined by water and corrosion.
Rusty but running.

And, now we are historic.

Yea, hoov. It's not the prettiest car but it's definitely the one I would pick. Reminds me of my Z, a little.
