Wednesday, December 14 2005
Ricky & Ronnies,
1301 West Sepulveda Blvd.
Torrance CA 90501
(310)326-1213
6PM
BTW: Starting Thursday, January 12 2006 the monthly meetings will again return to Fuddruckers in Buena Park.
(Corner of Beach Blvd. and Orangethorpe Avenue)
Monthly GroupZ 'Cruise-Ins' will still take place at Ricky & Ronnies on weekends,
(Dates and times to be announced)
A:
...6pm on a Wednesday
...in SoCal
...yeah
...that means if i was to live in LA or OC, got off work at 5pm like a normal person, i should be there around 8pm after sitting in traffic on multiple freeways for a couple of hours.
Seriously, Group Z should change their meetings to the second Saturday or every month. There no doubt more people would be able to make the journey (to south bay of all places). Anything mid week during SoCal rush hour isnt very productive.

The meeting is from Six to Nine... so an 8PM arrival is still during the meeting.
Also, the whiners from LA and OC can suck my butt about having a "tortorous drive in traffic"!
If I can make the meeting fomr MY HOUSE, they sure as hell can make it!
They just don't want to...
So starting next year (January Meeting) we will be back at Fudruckers where people can beyotch about the parking, have homeless guys assault them, and panhandlers and whores walk through the groups in the parking lot afterwards.
Hopefully the MANAGEMENT at Fuddruckers will treat us with a bit more RESPECT as a LONG STANDING CUSTOMER after having us GONE for a while.
Sometimes you have to slap people to get them awakened.
BTW, not to cast aspersions, but 50 cars and 80 people is a decent meeting---weeknight or weekend. What is the attendace of the Saturday Meetings you suggest as better? I think the MOST attendacne from Club Members on a weekend event may be 20 cars or so. Not quite what we get on average for our "after work meetings"...
That is a scheduled weekend "brunch event" you are talking about---seems lots of people have things going on then, too.

why are the meetings going back to fuddruckers? I like the ricky and ronnies place better. I like the fact that there is a separate section just for the car people.

Cool, i was wondering what happened to Fudds. I knew the parking was a complete disaster, ugh. You would think management would treat you with priority if youve been there giving them business for xx amount of years. Why go back to Fudds? Theres gotta be a better place.
What time do you leave your house anyway?

Absolute Z guys, or whatever you are, read the post that GroupZ SCC made:
"Monthly GroupZ 'Cruise-Ins' will still take place at Ricky & Ronnies on weekends,
(Dates and times to be announced)"
To explain the above quote for those challenged:
GroupZ will still have a meeting at Ricky and Ronnies, probably on the same weekend day of each month so you bong-hoggers won't get confused with soooo many different dates.
Comprehension???
Our attendance at either location has been great. This change is due to some of the southern folks that want a more traditional meeting venue.
Monthly guest speakers will have an easier time communicating in the private reserved meeting room every second thursday of every month.
Fuddruckers is freeway close and allows for attendees to; '"enjoy the cultural and lifestyle diversities of this magical theme park area of Orange County.'"
(This is sarcasm for those unable to discern such)
Looks like there will be TWO official meetings each month.
One in OC
One in L.A.
Kinda falls within our ZCCA charter doesn't it?
Plus we will have our board meetings on different days and locations each month. Our board members seem to be able to find their way around SoCal without too much stress and confusion, even in rush hour traffic.
(Besides variety is the spice of life.)
There will, as usual, be monthly events sponsored by GroupZ like our tour of the 'storage vaults' this year at Peterson Auto Museum. Not open to the public, but to GroupZ members. Some of the vehicles there will never be on display.
Gosh Ghostie...how long does it take to go from Long Beach to Torrance?
15 minutes? Have you ever heard of driving surface streets?
Willow turns into Sepulveda.
Everyone is always welcome to attend our functions.
Even the folks that whine about GroupZ but ask us to waive our exclusive charter so that they can have a ZCCA SANCTIONED club in our territory.
Which, of course, we do. We are an inclusive club.
That's also why we support other multi-club events in and around SoCal such as the Pines to Palms Drive and BBQ held annually with attendance in past years from GroupZ, Inland Valley, San Diego, DesertZ, EmpireZ, SinCity, Central Coast, Central Valley and others.
We recently sponsored a national Z convention attended by folks from all over the world.
Headquartered in Long Beach.
GroupZ is celebrating it's 35th. anniversary in 2006. Our original founder, Cliff Bartholomew, who died of cancer a few years after founding this club would be proud of what has been accomplished.
Oh yes...we also contribute annually to causes we feel need assistance like American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Salvation Army, Michael J. Fox Foundation, For Kids Sake, just to name a few.
Our membership dues help many in the community well beyond folks that own Z's.
Our members donate time each year to Cruise for the Cure.
A club is much more than showing up for a meeting each month, driving silly on the street or dissing other clubs while attending their meetings. It's the sum of it's parts by diversity with a common interest in the Nissan/Datsun Z.
Many of our members also belong to neighboring Z clubs. This develops a more cohesive bond within the Z community.
That's why I belong to GroupZ.
That's why I promote membership in GroupZ.
For what you get in return, the membership dues are nothing...
The experience is priceless.

They scheduled a blood drive one month.
They had a family reunion that took forever to clear out.
And two other incidents in the SAME YEAR...
We have had the room booked the second thursday of the month for over 10 years at that point. We were there before they SHUT DOWN, and we came back when they REOPENED.
You would thinks we would have gotten a bit of priority, but Nooooooooo!
Places to meet that can handle 80+ people that do not CHARGE you are few and far between. Ricky and Ronnies was the only real viable alternative, and they treated us well. We will still use them for brunch like activities.
