last night i was helpin my buddy pull the tranny out of his suabru 2.5rs turbo....royal PITA....got it out and went home and had a beer...one of our friends called and said he hit some ice and slid to the edge of the road, was hanging half way off, and couldn't get it out......other buddy has a huge lifted 03 duramax 4 door. we all hop in and head up to pull him out....half way up the hill we found out he got the car out (also a subaru 2.5rs turbo) but we headed all the way up to meet him. we get up and this kid straight rallied that car out of the hole...like 4x4 style....i was pretty amazed....anyway we are headed down the hill going home and the durax is headed into a hairpin and low speed and just hits more ice....just pushin the front end towards the hill....we hit the side...truck come out ok but the pass from boyd coddington wheel is bent to hell and the ball joint has popped loose. they drive all the way home and get the cordless impact and an aluminum jack (don't know why) started jacking it up and that truck just crushed this aluminum jack. we had to drive back down and get my 3 ton floor and drive all the way back up....put the spare on and limp it home...finally got home at like 5 this morning...just a long night all together...and to top it off my gf is made at me for it all cause i wans't home early.

Subarus may be a bitch to work on, but they're fun to drive.
In fact, I'm pretty sure the fact that I was driving a wrx instead of the honda I used to have is the reason I didn't get in an accident this evening... as I had to make a crazy turn to avoid hitting someone running a stop sign.

Yeah I agree with Junkman. Plus if I came home that late after helping out my friends with a VALID problem, the last thing I would want to hear/deal with, would be a pissed off g/f for coming home late. I probably would have told her to STFU (or leave, if she felt she couldn't STFU). Good job on helping the buddies!
