You guys in So Cal are too picky, that car is completely savable with only surface rust. I looked at a Austin Healey 3000 recently on E-bay that was actually rusted in half (two peices).
Black, bumperless, 78 Z with MSA superturbo system, K/N cone filter, ported intake, and exhaust manifolds.....15.9 @87 mph.

I like that kind of rust, assuming it is all just surface. It is a great bargaining tool to get the price down. Then, once you have the entire car bead blasted and primed it looks great.
