Ok, see this bit of trail here? See the big rock roughly in the middle of the picture right aboove the road?
Thats where this happened:(you can see the same big rock in the upper left here)
The story, some idiots from new york rented that thing out in vegas, drove it to moab, and then the person driving at that point got scared and decided to back down the trail, well as they backed down she started backing her right tires up onto the mountain side, after about 10 feet of this the car was just so off camber it rolled. Idiots.

I pulled a Jeep Cherokee Rental out of the Sand Dunes with my fully laden F350 2WD work truck once. Renters were city folks with no idea whatsoever how to drive such a vehicle. They were in so deep they couldn't open the back doors...

over the years i have pulled so many vehicles out of ditchs or snow 3ft. deep that ive lost track. i finally quit being the good samaritan when some idiot gunned his blazer coming out of a snow bank while i was pulling him and smashed into my truck. it always amazed me how some people thought that all 4wd s could do the same stuff and then cried when their mini 4wd got stuck following my full size truck with 14 inch lift kit , 42 inch tires and 800 lbs of ballast in the back for winter snow driving or off roading( without the weight of course).

I'm sure if they were from NYC, there next course of action was to jump on the cell phone to thier lawyer and try to figure out who gets sued.

Well, off roading isn't as simple as everyone assumes. The above proves that well enough. The vehicle and it's setup has a lot to do with it, but the crucial part of any off road adventure is a compitent driver. I've burried my Wrangler once since I bought it and that was because the ground under me was so wet it gave out and slid into the 4' deep drainage ditch along side the trail. I've gone up and down hills and mountains, through rivers, across sand dunes at the beach, and anything else I didn't think of. Never rolled it. Had it at a hell of an angle, but never gone completely over. I agree with Zluster, Idiots, learn to drive.
