Q:
I have to ask this question.. Does anyone have any memories of their first driver? (Parents or First car?).
Lets see... My dad had an 86 300zx 2+2 Gold paint w/ the digital package (talked too!).
And when I got my drivers license he wouldn't let me drive it by myself.. Because Canadian laws require a novice driver to have a fully licenced/experenced driver in the passenger seat (even though I was the best driver). But yeah, 3 months down I figured out a way to have my dad give me the car. I told him I had to go to job interviews. So every Friday/ Saturday night I’d tell him I have work when I was really driving the Z to my girlfriend(s) houses. Ahhh chicks loved the 86! T-tops off, blasting music, it was sweet! And they called me knight rider because the car talked, and the dash looked like instruments from a fighter jet. Those were the days, well it was 1 year ago;).
I have to get myself another 86Z!!!
ALSO. I have to ask. Does anyone here let their kids drive their Z?

First car was '55 Pontiac Chieftan (2dr sedan). Had a built '58 Bonneville engine (402 cu in) and a Packard 3 speed.
I blew it up twice racing before I moved on to my next car (1965 Olds 442 bought new in '66).
The car had 3" dump pipes that ran from the header collector to the side of the car right behind the front fenderwell. The tubes were capped with a square flange and block off plate but it only gave me a few inches clearance. I had the misfortune of knocking the block off plates off as I drove over a couple train tracks. Unfortunately, the city cop behind me was not very understanding about the noise from the uncapped headers. The result was my first shakedown hassle from the law. Ticket was for open exhaust (excessive noise) no horn, illegal equipment (car was too low), a couple other things.

90 300ZX. Had never driven anything street legal in my life and my dad told me to hop in and drive it (and it's manual). Ground it a couple times, but it was worth it :-)

My first car is the Z31 I have right now!
I remember when I first learnt to drive I used to do 160kmph in the wet overtaking trucks and driving blind for a good 3 seconds turning a corner haha. I'd NEVER do that now, oh boy how retarded I was when I first started driving. I must say that I gained so much experience driving foolishly in conditions like that, probably more experience in 5 - 10 seconds of aqua planing than 2 years of normal driving. But I seriously do not recommend that to everyone :)

I had an 89 Mercury Tracer 2 dr. Hatchback. I got my license when I was 14 and learned real fast why four cylinders suck. I wanted to be "cool" and do a burnout but I had a 3 spd. auto and couldn't even come close. So I figured I could gun it in neutral and drop it in drive. It did it twice and my car didn't "go" anymore. That was a nice $800. No more peeling out and no more auto tranny's for me.

82 280zx, my first car, had it for a year now...
I live in Chicago, and i just came back from running errands in it, and right now there is about 1" of snow on the ground, and let me say a 2800lb RWD sports car with no tcs or abs is a bit of an experience... was going 35 and light turned yellow about 150ft down the road, hit the breaks then slid all they way to the intersection and finally came to a stop when the car was over the white line by half a cars width... talk about close.
thankfully i haven't crashed it yet, and don’t plan on it.

The first car I ever drove was my Dad's 65 Rambler Station Wagon, the second was a 1963 NSU Sport Prinz (I loved that car). The first car I ever owned was a 65 Beetle, which I totally riced out and built a 2185CC weber motor for it and blew it up almost right away.

In 1971 my first car was a 63 Corvair with a blown head gasket. If you used the heater you had to ride with the windows down or you would die. This helped me master the concept of compromise at an early age. I cried when they towed it off.

First steering wheel I ever touched was a Corvair. I was very very young, pre-K somewhere around 1966 I guess. Dad scooped me up into his lap, and put my hands up on the wheel. I'm sure he was still steering the car, but as far as I was concerned I had just driven a car for the first time.

Learned in my Dad's 3yr old 1963 Ford Fairlane w/289.
My first four cars were 64-66 corvairs w/the same oil-air mixture whenever you used the heater. All of them cost no more than $100. each. One lasted all of two days before it died.
Next up for $1.00 was a 1960 Impala w/o an engine, then a 1956 Pontiac hearse w/"Wilson's Funeral Home" in goldleaf on the rear windows. It had a 318 w/3-speed on the column and an electric front seat. I broke two starters trying to start the car when it was already running, it was that quiet.
Next up was a 67 mustang fastback that my Dad sold for $100. in 1970 when the Air Force informed him I was KIA in 'Nam, then a VW bus that got a porsche engine transplant, then a brand new 260 Z(later stolen), then a volvo 544 w/b18 racing engine (dam nice car), then back to the VW bus, on to a jeep commando, then a '71 FJ40. Up to 1980 now.
