my friend picked one up the other night for 1000 dollars. i was joking around with him and told him that he was going to wind up getting a ticket.and he said that his motorcycle was faster than a cop car or just about anycar on the road. i know he would beat me in a race but i was wondering how bad.

You wouldn't even be close to him, he would slaughter you in any type of race, unless you changed the rules to where the last place was the winner. He'd probably be up to 100 or more before you even reached 60.

yea he would beat you by at least 30 lengths (bike lengths :P) in a 1/4 mile.

I'd love to have a sportbike but I have forbidden myself to get one for the simple fact that within two weeks of me getting one, I'd either be dead, or in jail. It's easy to become a total dick in traffic on one of those.

True it is a motorcycle and a less agressive sportbike, but it isn't that fast. Probably 13's in the 1/4 realistically. Mid 12's if you can launch like a pro and weigh 160 or under. Now for 0-60, it'll be in the mid 4's, which is very quick for any vehicle. I have had several 600's and the newer ones are indeed fairly rediculous with 120hp+ and only 375lbs. However, a 93 model is going to have its limitations. Tons of fun to ride though.

One of those Yamahas looks badass. I'm not sure if it's the FZR600 you're talking about, but in the mid to late 90s Yamaha made one of their more touring bikes that looks like the full on race bikes. Like Suzuki has the Katana GSX 600, then they have the race GSX-R 600. Yamaha has a Katana similar bike, and then the R line of bikes they race, but they also had one in between that was bad as ****! My friend's brother has an all black one, and I'm pretty sure it's the FZR600, maybe has an R at the end, but isn't quite the R6. It was the sweetest non race bike I've ever seen.

I'd be willing to bet it was a Yamaha YZF600R. It's a touring version of a R6, but not very 'toury', a little more comfortable and better wind protection from fairings etc. The FZR's are not usually mistaken for a R6 by any stretch.

Ok I thought it was the FZR600R. Has the lil pointy nose pointing toward the front fender on the bttom of the fairings....that's a mean ass bike.
