These were fantastic cars up through the 900 and the 9000 series (considered the last true Saabs), but with so much GM control, Saab is about to dissapear, I'm afraid. It's really too bad, cuz a properly tuned Turbo Saab will embarrass many bigger, louder, and sportier cars.
My 90 Z32NA and my 89 Saab SPG are just about even for performance - Saab at 175 hp, 2800 lbs, same gearing = NA 222 hp and 3200 lbs. Z wins for top end though, by about 20 mph.
