I once downloaded a patch or something of the like (don't remember the actual name--overlay maybe?) that had placemarks for hundreds of racetracks all over the world bookmarked. It was sick!

I'm glad I didn't buy it before Google bought it (when it was KeyHole) for ~$70.
If you have a high-end graphics card, you can tilt the horizon so you can view everything in 3D. The mountains are the coolest, you can virtually "fly" around them. You can also see roads, 3D skyscrapers...and they mark out all the bars and clubs too!
The satellite resolution is unbelieveable. I can even see the shadow that my Z was making ~2 years ago!!

i found that patch but it was actually kinda cool to find the tracks myself. There is only one that i am not really sure about. The nurburgring, it is in a low resolution spot so i cant tell if i actually have it.

Ralius: I also noticed that the pictures on google earth are a bit old. Since theres a lot of construction in the area I'm living in currently, when I look around I can recognize that the pictures are about 18 months old due to the lack of very recently built houses and structures. So, I decided to look up my the address that I was living at 18 months ago, where I didn't have a garage. Sure enough, I can see my Z parked in the lawn in front of the house (we had only one carport and 5 roommates with cars). You couldn't really make out that its a Z, but the color and the ttops give it away (plus the fact thats its parked on the lawn, where my car was 80% of the time)
**edit**
here, its still there actually:
You can see my car and its got the ttops off, by the looks of it. Thats definitely my old house and my car where I always parked it (until the old lady across the street called the police... =| )

BobbyZ 280 - I found the Nurburgring myself, but like you, I was unsure because of the low resolution. Since Google Earth is on my mom's work computer and not my home's, I can't tell you for sure right now. But I did it by searching for Koln, Germany, and referring to this (from nurburgring.de):
Quote:
Der Nürburgring liegt 90 km südwestlich von Köln bzw. 60 km nordwestlich von Koblenz.
Of course: "The Nurburgring lies 90km southwest of Koln, 60km northwest of Koblenz."
People's bookmarks should start pointing to it when you're around it, and by exploring those you can find overlays that actually superimpose an accurate map of the track over the track itself to give you the impression that you can see it clearly.

All you have to do to go from a "plan view" to the "horizontal view" is to hold down the mouse scroll wheel and pull the mouse towards you. There are navigation buttons that do the same thing (the soft keys at the bottom of the interface).
I can do an movie if you want...
