Q:
Here's my semi-interesting Z story of the day:
So I get called down the the VP's office today... I figured it was nothing, as I never get called in there. I stop in, and he asks if I saw him Tuesday. At this point, I have no idea what he's talking about since we had the day off Tues. Well, apparently he saw me, in my Z. Not good.
Though we did have the day off, I was infact at school for about 5 minuts that day. I had just finished my suspension install, and I drove over there to make sure I could get over the speedbumps ok. While I was there, I found a deserted, isolated area of the lot to turn a few "skidpad" type turns, to make sure the struts woulden't bottom out under load. No biggie - I did about 4 rotations, no sliding, no screetching tires, and went on my way.
Well, come to find out the VP happened to be at a near-by sports game, and witnessed the whole thing. Being the only person in school with a black Datsun, I was kinda easy to pick out. Thus I've been bannished from driving there during two weeks of prime-time driving weather. Live and learn, I guess.
The funny thing was, he thought I was "trying" to do a donut, lol. I tried to explain that it was a suspension / safety test, but I don't think he really knew what I was talking about. On the writeup, I am officially bannished for "attempting a skid-pad simulation." lol.

That sucks, but at least have school parking. The parking lot at my HS was so small they sold only enough parking passes for the number of lots. You had to pay like $15 for a parking pass for the year and I didn't have the extra cash to spend on a parking pass.

Well, $15 doesn't sound like much, but when you have bills to pay and only a part time job so you can keep going to school it's a lot. My graduating class was 90 people, which was the most ever to graduate from my school, and we had maybe that many parking spaces.

So you're banned for the duration of the year, or just the next two weeks? Did you explain that the car is capable of donuts, and offer to demonstrate? You should ride a bicycle for the remainder of your sentence, one of those with the brakes on the pedals when you go backwards, and do 20 foot long skid marks on the pavement, every morning...
And, my highschool charged $75 for a parking pass, plus $10 per additional car. So me and my buddies got together... it was fun to explain why I owned so many cars when I handed over the cash....

Yeah, it sux. Just for 2 weeks, but here in CT, it gets cold, and then it snows, and then theres SALT!
He basically said that had I done it and no one had seen it, it woulden't have been a problem. However, since some parents witnessed it, he had to do something. My Cuz drifts his RX-7 there after band practice some nights, and the whole damn place is covered in burnout and donut marks. Hell, Steve has hit 70 on his CBR in there (sweet bike, btw), so it's not like I was doing some bad-ass reckless sh!t by any streatch of the immagination.

You should of told him " do you want to see what a real donut is" The best is when a kid in our school got banned for doing a "donut" when he was going around a turn when it was wet out in his Lebaron. He siad to the VP " In all honesty sir, my car is front wheel drive, it cant do donuts"

It was free to park at my HS, and I never got caught doing doughnuts there, but I did have a friend who took his aerostar over medians and stuff to leave the parking lot...No one got banned that I can remember, so I guess you'd have to do something good to get banned...That was along time ago though...and things might have changed, silly worried older folks.

On graduation day I was one of the last to leave, and while exiting the parking lot I noticed twin black streaks on the way out. Nothing out of the ordinary, except that they didn't stop.
It wound about 1/4 mile, around a 90 degree turn, OVER 3 RIDICULOUSLY TALL SPEED BUMPS, and there was a pile of rubber at the exit of the parking lot, where he had obviously been at a standstill while waiting on a passing car. Then the marks disappeared out in the road.
Best burnout mark I've ever seen. Talk about wishing you had a camera.
Our parking lot shenanigans were ridiculous.

incapable of donuts or suspension testing. And I thought I was lucky just to have a car.
But there were guys with Novas and such jacked up with Cragars and BFGs, headers, Hush Thrush mufflers, and all. I guess today it's guys with Z cars and coil overs and other odds and ends.
Be careful.
A:
find which car the person drives that banished you in the parking lot.
get the license # and when he leaves the school call the cops from a school pay phone saying some really drunk driver almost hit a bunch of kids in the crosswalk and give him the license #.
ive made phone calls like this before and talk about ruining a persons day.

When we left the highschool parking lot, everyone was in a rush to get home. Most of us took the same road about 10 miles back to town. Anyway, one guy had a total beater Mazda. He would wait until everyone was lined up at the stop light near the school, and stop one or two cars back. When the light went red, he would push his bumper against the car in front, and push them out into the intersection.
It was a dumbass thing to do, and people would have to turn right and exit the intersection to avoid being hit...

readin stuff likes this makes me glad I was out of high school by 1980.
No parking fees...
There were no cops, no metal detectors, no security cameras, etc.
I drove a pickup truck with a gun rack on the back window and usually had a rifle and or shotgun in the truck with me.
I never talked back to my teachers cause the principle gave out swats to kids (anyone here remember swats?)...lol
I had a big bumper sticker on the back of my truck that read AYATOLLAH UPYOURHOLLA...
ah those were the days...sure wish I could remember more of them...lol

School parking lots seem to be a commin place for people to go to mess around with their cars.
My dad told me a story when he was in highschool, same school I want to, he was running late so he drove his mustang into the soccer field behind the parking lot, turned around and pulled into a space. The VP saw him and claimed he was leaving ditches in the field and banned him for it. My dad proceeded to burnout in the driveway to the school right by the door, all the way down the driveway and down the road, when the smoke cleared he saw the school cop happened to follow him.
I was banned for 2 weeks for teaching my girlfriend how to do donuts in my 280zx. I drove my Scirocco insead that no one knew I had, lol

I took my brothers new Camaro out onto the football field after a game once and proceeded to do donuts, ripping up the field like no other. I thought I was the coolest cat in town with all the people thinking I was crazy. But I must admit when I dug into one of those huge pop up sprinklers sideways and blew out a tire, I was not the coolest kid in town that day as I limped the car off the field and drove away on a flat.

Only real crazy thing I did to my high school parking lot was cover the whole thing with newspaper from a local recycle bin...and I mean the WHOLE thing....from end to end. Took us about an hour and a half and three truckloads in my buddy's F-150, God rest her soul (the truck, not my buddy)...wet roads on bald tires.

Ah the good ole days of highschool - graduated in 1968 -
yea - the coaches waited at the doors and if you had a shirt tail out put it in or get swats - paddling was the morning wake up call - hair never over the ears or down the nape of the neck -
girls - the knelling test - not skirts above the knees -
the paddle or suspention was the norm.
This was public school not religious. No uniforms, no shorts, girls dresses only.
Encorrigable punks who were in the 17 to 18 year old group - went to the judge. They had a choice - jail or Army. This was Vietnam era. Carryover from the '50's.
That's why the "revolution" of the late '60's & '70's.
And yet - everyone had access to guns - there were hunting guns in most folks homes or relative or friends. Never any shootings at school, it was only something you heard about on Saturday nights in the wrong side of town.

LOL!
that sux you got banned but its only a couple of weeks. when the snow flies dont make the mistake of accidentally repeating it or you could be gone for longer. our vp was an ex prison guard from jackson 6-5 and 290 when he said come here, you did what he said! LOL!

Junior year I got banned from parking for a month because the rear end of my car kicked out a few inches around a turn with a bunch of gravel on it (we were doing construction at the time)
Some uptight middle aged teacher got all hysterical, called the principal and told them I was "drifting" turns out of school...not sure how she had ever even heard the term...but anyways, it was complete crap
Every year on the last day of school my friend with a '74 Plymouth Duster and I would always give a nice 400 yard white smoke-filled salute to the school on our way out...graduation was especially satisfying.
